Forums - Sony - SONY is still a strong brand in America, more loved than Google and Amazon

Ok. So it's 27000 people. I still find it mind boggling that MS would rank so high. Outside of gaming, I usually see large amounts of vitriol being spat their way. I am forced to conclude this study is bunk, or I have phase shifted into an alternate reality.

it definitely makes sense. MS is a huge company and is very relevant in the general public. Its in the hands of everyone whether it be Windows, Xbox, Surface, Outlook, Bing/MSN or Skype. And Best Buy is dedicated to M, dedicating entire halfs of its stores to MS products. Its in the eyes of consumers more consistently than most companies, including Sony.

Most people use MS, Apple, amazon, Facebook, Netflix and Google products and services on a daily basis, it's obvious why they make the list. People vote them up with their wallets.

But SONY? I can hardly think of an area where they dominate outside of gaming.

"The score is based on the performance of the brand in 5 key metrics Fun, Relevance, Engaging, Social and Helpful, with companies in US, UK and Brazil being scored by 27,000 consumers."

These are some weird metrics. Maybe we should just rank them based on how willing people are to pay for their products and services.
