Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft's CEO Praises The Nintendo Switch!

During Ubisoft’s financial conference call related to the quarter ended on September 30th, CEO Yves Guillemot talked about the Nintendo Switch, praising the fact that you can take the home console experience on the go. He describes it as a“true innovation.”

“The March quarter will also see the release of the Nintendo Switch. As we already said, we think the platform is great. For the first time ever, players will continue their home console experience on the go while traveling or commuting. That is a true innovation.”

Guillemot also mentioned that the Switch will benefit from both the home console market as well as the handheld console market.

“Second, most importantly, despite the huge competition from mobile gaming, Nintendo managed to sell more than 55 million 3DS since launch. The Switch will benefit from this strong demand for Nintendo games on a dedicated handheld platform.

If potential is reached, then Ubisoft, as the leading third party publisher on Nintendo consoles over the past ten years, will benefit disproportionately.”

just give us beyond good and evil 2.

I don't think I've ever been as excited as the title is about this news.

The more ubisoft say they like the system the less I think it's going to be a success.

If they're talking it up this much to investors, it really seems like they have plans for the console, at least to start with. Would not surprise me to see Ubisoft get behind Nintendo with this.

Hit the nail on the head. Exactly what I was thinking. Why bring it up at a financial conference, if it does not benefit your sales? This news implies that the release and concept and hype behind the Switch wil benefit them. This probably means they will release a few games for it. They will test it out at first, and if games sell then they will continue support.

I have never played beyond good and evil. The only Ubi games I have played include their main games like Assassins Creed, which I have not played since the third one and I actually miss it, as well as ZombiU, and Splinter Cell on the Wii U.

Tbh, the only thing that I'd love to see from them is BG&E and Rayman games. The rest of them is a bit shitty imo.

I have faith in Ubisoft supporting the Switch more than a company like EA. They are almost talking about it too much. Perhaps they are making love motel visits?
