BK3 will be amazing. It is being made by the original Banjo team.

The games for 360 that are worth trying out I would say would be Dead Rising, Gears of War, Fable 2, Too Human and Forza 2.

Kameo (pretty and cute, great gameplay), DOA4 (very fun fighter IMO) and BioShock (haven't played it enough, but parts of the game look great). FPS: Maybe Halo 3, didn't excite me but most people seem to dig this game, I liked the Rainbow Six: Vegas and Dead Rising demos.
A friend loves Top Spin 2.
IMO avoid Condemned, the sequel seems much better though. I didn't like the PGR series at all, had some fun with Tomb Raider but probably looks a bit dated by now, if you dig this sort of game a follow up looks set to push next gen systems much harder.
Update: I just ordered the following, and got a big discount due to several Amazon UK promotions added together:
- Xbox Premium
- Halo 3 (10 £, if I don't like it I'll sell it later)
- GTA IV (20 £ with promotional code XBOXGTA4)
- Wireless adapter for PC (for the controller)
All of this together was 265 £... Great deal IMO.

The 360 has so many good games you would go broke pretty soon :)
Definitely get these exclusive titles i.e. Gears of War, BioShock, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Halo3. (theres lots more this year as well). I recommend you go to the Vgchartz game database and sort by 360 sales, there are over 30+ 1 million sellers.
I definitely recommend at least a Premium with the HDMI port, you get full 1080p. Also, subscribe to Live, as you can play RSV2, COD4, Halo 3 and Gears till you fingers go blue.
And I havent even got started on multi-platform titles, XBLA Arcade hits, Marketplace movies.
Congrats on getting an Xbox 360, sorry for your social life though. :)
