Forums - Gaming - Couple of questions for STAR WARS fans.

So at 32yo I recently decided that it was time to see what Star Wars was all about, after years of my friends and some family members laughing and acting surprised I'd never watched a Star Wars movie or even knew who chewbacca was it was time. Although I sort of knew I'd like the franchise I never could get the energy to watch them.

Anyways so over the past three weeks I've watched all 7 movies and as I thought, I massively enjoyed every movie, a lot.

So I wanted to ask star war fans whether the BattleFront game is worth buying once the "ultimate edition" is released (apparently it contains all the DLC that's been released all for the the normal price of a game)

Also, has anybody watched the "Clone Wars" animated series based between episode 2&3 and are they worth watching? Also as an adult would I find them abit childish??

I've not played the new Battlefront or watched Clone wars, though I've heard good things about Clone Wars and Rebels.

If you're an RPG fan though you should definitely play Knights of the Old Republic, absolutely amazing game. It's on PC and the OG Xbox, They recently ported it to Android/IOS though I don't know if those versions hold up or not.

If there's one way to really get into the Star Wars Universe it's playing Kotor.

I play Battlefront all the time, and still find it a blast. That being said, I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and have been practically my entire life. I was raised on the films, and the mere fact that there are At-ats and X-wings likely makes me grade it on a curve. I also enjoy online shooters, so that certainly helps. If you're looking to play the game by yourself, I wouldn't recommend it. Even though there are single-player modes that simulate the online battles, they're more limited and aren't as fun as the actual multiplayer modes.

The nice thing, however, is that the game is not as brutally difficult as most online shooters. While there is still a learning curve, the game, especially when you play the Imperials, gives you a wide array of vehicles and heroes that can use to help improve your score. It is still a shooter, however, and you are still going to die...a lot.

The new Battlefront is great for capturing the feeling of the series. It's a fun shooter. The Clone Wars series is adult-friendly. I've only watched a few episodes beyond the kick-off movie, but it was solid.

I would skip Battlefront. The Star Wars fan service is great, but mechanically it's just not very interesting.

Try Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Republic Commando, Shadows of the Empire, and Rogue Squadron.

As far as TV goes, the computer animated Clone Wars is an OK show. The traditional animated show, the one by Tartakovsky, is great. Try to track that one down.

There are 7 films? I only consider there being 3.

Hmm, pie.

Clone Wars is okay.

Battlefront is not.

If you're looking for the definitive Star Wars gaming experience, here are the five best:

Knights of the Old Republic
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Rogue Squadron

The new Battlefront is awful but you should maybe get the Ultimate edition cheap just to see the amazing graphics.

Glad to see you liked the Prequel films.

The Clone Wars (2008) CG TV Series is awesome! There is some content there that matches the quality of the best Star Wars films. You will see death of characters in those series, this show is not kiddy-safe stuff.

REMEMBER THOUGH! There is a an CG-animated film called Star Wars Clone Wars (2008) which serves as the first episode of the The Clone Wars CG TV Series (I am not gonna lie to you, this movie sucks ass but is in now way, shape or form a representation of what you will get with the TV show, the TV show is miles better).

NOW! There is something I think you should give a look if you want more Star Wars awesomeness. Before the release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Cartoon Network released a badass cartoon TV series called Star Wars Clone Wars (2003) that takes place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith and that also deals with the Clone Wars situation. You can watch it here:

The above video is missing a couple of minutes at the end but you can watch the remaining little bit here:

In this kick-ass cartoon series a character is introduced to the Star Wars universe, a character that also appears in the CG The Clone Wars TV Series and the character is vital to the series. I suggest you watch the cartoon TV Series I linked you above first before watching the The Clone Wars CG TV Series.

Actually, I analyzed both stories and found that the best way to fuse Clone Wars (cartoon) and The Clone Wars (CG) is to watch the first YouTube link I gave you with the cartoon series up to the scene that ends in 1:21:31, then jump to the CGI The Clone Wars movie, continue with the CGI TV Series and after you finish the series six season then return to the YouTube links and finish the rest. In that way the story fits perfectly.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me here or by PM, I always have time for a fellow Star Wars fan who loves all Star Wars films.

P.S. Yes, they screwed up by naming "Clone Wars" so much different content.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Hm. You knew you'd like it, but never watched it until now. Sounds odd.

I don't deem myself a Star Wars fan. The movies are ok. I tried the animated serieses. Well, its kid stuff.

But what i really enjoyed about Star Wars was reading lore. And i love the Tie Fighter Wars animation and the SWTOR CGIs. I think they're better than any movie ever made.
