Well, I think a lot would change actually. On an emotional level there would be worldwide astonishment despite however many already "believe" The more tangible evidence that comes our way the more tangible our amazement becomes. The amazement is more of recognizing how incongruent our former belief systems were in general - simply, not being alone.

From there however comes the real turning point imo. Something of that nature, whenever we reach communication that is, would give people a more long-term vision of life on Earth and in space. The exact kind of long-term thinking necessary for taking actionable steps to secure the health of this organism we call Earth.

Denial of Gloabl Warming, imo, is not really about religious nuts so much as it is about a short-term thinking mentality that we have yet to rid ourselves of biologically. It was necessary in the Cave-age, but now no longer.

I think it will go the opposite way. I mean if the aliens were able to spread to multiple solar systems there is absolutely zero point to conserve this planet. It's just one of literally billions.

So you will have less global warming deniers but a ton more global warming whogivesafuckers.

Huh, interesting twist! But that wouldn't happen until it became clear we had a way of migrating off the planet(safely) to another one(gotta find this too). That would take waaay longer than merely some form of legitimate communication

I'm still curious to see if there is life within Europa.

Oh, we know there's life in Europe. Research is being made to find if it is intelligent.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I believe there is ETI. I've seen the same glowing orb like sphere that some pilots have documented in seeing, and that's the best way I can describe it.. like a glowing flying ball. I was sitting near the back of the plane so I saw it while looking out the window.. I was like "wait, the sun doesn't glow purple.."

Are we certain there is life? That's news to me.

Wait, you posted Europe. You kidder you.

What would change? Gonna pack your bags and travel a few thousand lightyears to say hello to some civilization that most likely doesn't exist anymore?

I'm pretty sure it isn't just religious nuts denying global warming.

Oh yeah forsure, we're in agreement. It's people who simply don't think long-term startegy and just sort of have that psychology embedded in their mind.

I for one, think that some of the things some scientists are saying are a bit exaggerated. But if we continue throug this path, we'll run out of a good atmosphere soon.

Go find out law of truly large number. This finding really doesnt mean anything

See, that's always been a thorn in my side. The only think the scientists can 100% agree on is that global warming is affected by Humans and is to some extent man-made.

Let's not get it twisted folks, the only way to helpt stop it is to do something about it. I just wish we knew more about the specifics. Which elements of human behavior affect it the worst? Which ones can be pragamatically reduced the easiest? Which ones affect the weather patterns the most? I'd also like more definitive proof on these macro cycles that the Sun goes through naturally that also affect weather patterns.

I want humans to stop being stupid, but I also want scientists to get more specific facts for everyone's sake. Weather seems like a trickier science than say chemistry. Especially when the variables, like human pollution, can't be controlled in a laboratory.

I agree with your points.
