I didn't expect anything from anything this year, I just play older games all the time.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

TMNT (THIS SO MUCH!!!) As a self respecting Turtles fan since the 80's, I just knew Platinum games could get a Turtles game right. I think they oversimplified it and it because...just bad. I don't believe anything is gonna top Turtles In Time. That is still the most superior Turtles game to date. Thing is..it's on the SNES. |
I don't agree with #2 but totally agree with #1 and #3. How did Platinum screw up so badly? I mean TMNT is solidly in its wheelhouse. You're right: Turtles in Time is still the champion.
1) Mirror's Edge Catalyst
2) FF XV delay
3) No Nintendo Switch this year

Pokken Tournament is the only title that I felt the Wii U had this year that was noteworthy. Color Splash is fun, but not really SM3DW noteworthy. Just my opinion. I really like Nintendo and always will. I was just disappointed with games like Star Fox and such. It could have been so much more grander.
Yeah and if anyone could do a TMNT games, it would have been Platinum. They would have been my one and only developer I thought that could tackle that task. The missed it man and it disappointed me. I didn't even finish the game because I was so bored and unattached by it. I truly wanted to like it and even tried to pick it up and play it again. Sadly, I couldn't get into it and thus far being my most disappointing release this year. I wasn't hyped for NMS and didn't care about it at all, so that game didn't effect me in the least. The Turtles game hurt my heart.

OP talks about games and then most people talk about delays, events etc
which is it?
games: no disappointments, as usual
stuff: almost everything, as usual.

The premise of this is to convey your letdowns of this year. There were no specifics.

After reading another thread, I have to say Street Fighter V takes the cake for me.
-It was released exclusively on PS4 wheni wanted to buy an Xbox One version (but I already accepted that)
-It cut out almost all of my most used characters
- the characters that remained played fundamentally different
-it lacked content and wanted real money for "premium content"
-many features were broken or non existent at launch
-matchmaking was horrible ( and no "character select!?!")
Wtf. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I bought this game on day one knowing many of the shortcomings and I was still very disappointed. I purchased a new goddam controller exclusively for this game and subscribed to a year of PlayStation Plus (which I actually don't regret) just so I could play SFV online. It's not even on my hard drive, anymore. In fact, immediately after buying SFV, I went back and bought SFIV and played that instead.
No Nintendo switch for Xmas
Twilight Princess HD looking a bit Meh
And that's all really don't really care enough about other games if they fail or not
EDIT actually I downloaded Company of heroes 2 on steam few months back was so hyped to play the sequel to the best ever RTS. Went straight to PVP and yeah disappointed very much so went back to playing the original COH online mode.

You know what....I forgot that game released this year. That's how disappointing it was. I take back my TMNT place (although it was still a let down) place that with SFV. I bought it day one as well with a new stick. I can count on my 2 hands how many times I've actually played it. Which is crazy because I love fighting games.
Even if the game was on Xbox One, it would do that much better. Game was incomplete. They should have waited to release it.
