If you really want to compare with something more accurate it would be this:

This was the first look at the PS4. It was also shown on many live streams so those views aren't counted.

Switch could get there I guess.

dude the Switch has like 6 times the amount of likes as that Playstation 4 trailer does and already 1/3 the views in a matter of 24 hours. Some of you are deluding yourselves.

again, the Nintendo Facebook Switch release trailer is TOTALLY seperate from the Youtube one and has similar views/comments

'Friday' by Rebecca Black has something like 100,000,000 views now. I'm not kidding.

9M is good, but it's a major new hardware announcement, I think it says a lot more about people's curiosity than anything concrete. We don't know if 5M of those people were like 'pffft' or not. Or if 1M of those people were like 'DAY ONE' lol.

It's unknowable at this point. I watched it personally a couple of times, and I found it devastatingly depressing.

generally when you have like 1/100 dislikes that's an insanely positive result for any video on a site like Youtube or Facebook. Rebecca Black's Friday has 100 million views but it also have a massive proportion of dislikes. Its not an apples to apples comparison

Isn't that just proof that Youtube as a whole is peaking right now ?
Also ps4pro reveal wasn't as exciting, most people just wanted to know the specs. NX reveal on the other side has a lot of features that are better explained in a video format.
Nintendo is also the most popular amongst all fanbases. Both Playstation and Xbox fans tend to express interest for Nintendo announcement, which don't always translate in sales.
Awesome numbers though. Even if it might not directly translate in sales numbers, NX already has great product awareness.

I seriously doubt the bolded. Just because we keep an open mind and would watch a video about the next ninty console doens't mean much.

the 3DS is older than the Xone and sells better every week.

the Nintendo Wii U has far less hardware sales than the Xone or PS4 yet their exclusives regularly outsell the exclusives for the other two console manufacturer's.

I think its fairly obvious that, yes, Nintendo has the largest dedicated fanbase. It translates in one way or another repeatedly. Doesn't mean they'll win everything but in terms of DEDICATED fans they have the most.

The real question, and more significant one, is whether or not they'll be able to bring over the casuals (who make the bulk of the video game customer market). Based on the response to the Switch announcement its a positive sign in that direction though

Switch will definitively beat this, and by a lot.

50 million views minimum, possible +100 million in the end... i mean, is already at what, 15 million in a day? (the update is bugged cause is getting lots of views)

which may amount to nothing

right... because a 200-1 like to dislike ratio and probalby like 10-15 million views in 24 hours on Youtube alone isn't an extremely positive sign. Again though that's not even counting the seperate Facebook video which has similar numbers

Not joining the discussion, just adding a small correction: It's like to dislike ratio is currently 26:1, not 200:1.

Deluded about what?

lol i you think so...

I don't think or disthink, I said that the amount of views may or may not lead to sales.

It's a positive sign, but that may not end up as sales.

Several market researches will show that a lot of people surveyed were interested in the concept or product, but when it was time to put the money where the mouth were it wouldn't happen.

We even had that with Nintendo already with fans demanding several things and pleading others but when one company done what they wanted they wouldn't buy in and then would put dozen of excuses of why not.

Even on this forum a lot of Nintendo fans aren't very pleased by this notion... and if it releases for 300,00 as basically a HH that can be docked and with little 3rd party support we already can foresee some not as pleasing launch as some expect... well, we had users here expecting 3DS to sell over 200M and WiiU to go 150M... so it's always good to keep expectations in check.
