If Sony play this right, they've got a runaway success here:

 

PlayStation VR was so popular in the UK that all the allocation for launch was sold out in a few days. A restock was promised, but no date was given but now we do have a date. The restock will start on November 14th 2016 according to Amazon UK which is much longer than the already in progress restock on Amazon US.

This news has caused the PlayStation VR price to skyrocket on sites such as Ebay with sellers actually selling the PS VR for £500 because some people can’t wait a month for the restock.

What do you think about the late restock and people selling the product on Ebay for high profits? Let us know in the comments section below.

I won't take being "sold out" as good sales. We don't know how much supply there is in the market. If it turns out sales are good, then congrats. But if they're pulling stunts like Apple does, then why should that be good news?



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Well it's Sony, so they'll announce sales.

If we're being called upon to 'assume' then we have to assume it's selling well, especially when you look at the Amazon thread and the reactions from GAF. To assume the worse in order to ask 'should that be good news' seems more arbitrary than assuming a positive. And you also have this:

It hasn't had its first weekend yet. Come next week, it will be buzzing. By the time holiday shopping really kicks in, you will easily double your investment if you are planning to sell. This is will be Wii all over again, but it won't die out. VR is the next geration in media, entertainment, and communication. This is going from Radio to TV again. We have not had a new technology that changed the way we view and reciever entertainment since the 1940's when TV came to the consumer market. 

In 5 years from now, I have no doubt that 500 million VR units will be selling each year. We will have VR in every room, and on every mobile device. So, be patient, your investment will be well worth it.



Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. I agree that being sold out doesn't necessarily mean good sales.

 

But what signifies good sales in this case? We don't really have much of a history to look at. Realistically all we have are Sony's expectations.
