When you say writing is better than in Hotel Dusk, you mean it as some sort of "I liked Hotel Dusk but this one tops it in that aspect" or "Hotel Dusk's writing was nonsensical and this one is marginally better"?

In the way that Hotel Dusk had quite a few conversations that felt too long and boring, not really adding anything to the overall story. Also, the characters' personalities are established quicker in C:CCI-DM.

It's weird because you make it sound C:CCI-DM is a better option than Hotel Dusk (not just talking about the writing here, mind you) in the sum-of-its-part, yet the description of the gameplay you provided make it look like it's extremely limited within the player input, as opposed to exploring, interacting with people and doing enviromental puzzles present in HD and TLW.
