thing about it logically though guys- what giant benefit does Nintendo have announcing the system NOW rather in, say, January? sure that would be an unprecedented early announced (few months out), but stranger things have happened

if they announce now guess what- the holidays are coming and people are focusing on holiday shopping. They hear about the NX, some parents, a GF, whomever- and that its coming out NEXT YEAR and guess what... their thoughts move on. People are currently preoccupied with this holiday season and gifting, not next spring.

I don't see any huge advantage of announcing now vs. waiting. There just aren't that many people who are going to strategically wait 4 months to buy their kid the NX if their kid might possibly want a PS4 now.

if anything the risk of the system hype dropping comes up because it gets announced in an extremely busy holiday period and then people forget about it because March is kind of a less exciting release period of time

I could see the Big N just figuring that they might be able to do blitz marketing closer to release date

while it probably wouldn't hurt to announce during the holidays, I can't help but think that people are very preoccupied during them and if they can't purchase something during that time they tend to let it go to the back of the mind 

We are 100% getting some official NX infos this month, at latest at Investor Meeting that's on 26/27 October.

Yes, Nintendo officially said they will talk about NX this year (also recently, Nintendo of Europe representative Ulysse Richert-Botté reiterated that Nintendo will publicly share more information about the NX within the year), and because October Investor Meeting is last this year they need to talk to investertor about plans for NX, so they will definitely give us some NX infos latest at Investor Meeting.

I think its getting delayed again.

Its basically too late at this point to reveal and then launch it in march.
That leads me to think its probably not launching in march as they said it would.

Nintendo themselves blamed marketing on why Wii U sold so poorly.

They pull a stunt like you suggested with January reveal, and March launch, and their in for a repeat.

1-2months reveal before launch is not alot of time, to market things, and you need time for it to show any effect.

Of Course it's not too late, they can easily reveal it in October and launched it in March. They can even reveal it January and launched in March, but IMO that wouldn't be too wise.

Wii U marketing problem was because it was very bad marketing, not because of timing marketing (actualy too early reveile hurt Wii U). They can have good and much better marketing even with January reveal. Actually January revel makes 2-3 months before revile, not 1-2 months before reveal.

Honestly wouldnt be surprised to find out its delayed.
