Seems easy enough but what if my "favourite wall outlet" is far away from my ps4? :(

I want those self lengthening cables!

Why does it use dual hdmi to the headset? I thought it was a single 1080p screen inside, odd.

A lot of hassle and I mean beyond the initial monstruos wiring.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

the PSVR itself doesn't have a power cable, so I guess they needed the 2nd one (which might not necessarily be HDMI, although it looks like similar in the video) for power and maybe other data like from the sensors etc

Makes sense, yet why not make a proprietory single plug if it does non hdmi complient stuff. Or maybe it doesn't, hdmi can carry power although not all that much, two to boost power? Sensor data can be send back over the return channel encoded as audio.

Perhaps it's engineered to be compatible with a future dual display device or perhaps Sony had a mountain of hdmi connectors left in a warehouse.

Ah nevermind:

The two “heads” are actually an HDMI port and an AUX port, the former feeding the HMD panel with juicy stereoscopic virtual reality awesomeness at up to 120Hz, the latter transmitting ready-to-be-enjoyed 3D audio in one direction and HMD sensor data plus voice chat coming from the HMD in the other. The AUX cable does also power the HMD itself.

wow that's a lot more than I thought. Don't think I need an area that size if I'll be sitting anyway. I will definitely be checking out cinema mode for some stuff. Wish they would make some 3rd person VR games. I love getting immersed and being in 3rd vs 1st person doesn't effect my immersion while 3rd person is better for platforming and traversal games.

I am Iron Man

Getting excited now, my local store confirmed they'll have stock on thursday, reserved a headset. Less than 2 days to go to put an end to 20 years waiting.

Just for fun, a warning about VR use
