I'm not going to read through this atm, but I thought that the PS3 could win this generation, but not sell the 100 million like in the past. What I thought would happen is that the xbox 360 would sell well because of being on the market for a year ahead of the competition, which it did. And I thought the PS3 would have a slow start, which it did. And I thought the Wii would have a fast start, which it did. I just was wrong after the initial launch. I never would have guess the Wii would keep selling like it is and I thought the PS3 would have caught on sooner than it did. I also didn't expect so many big name PS3 games to be delayed as much as they have either. I expected the 360 to finish in last since it is mainly US focused, but I didn't realize that Microsoft would have such a hard time with the rrod issue and I think that will put them squarely in last place this gen while accumulating more debt in their gaming division.

I bought a PS3 at launch (camped out), didn't get a Wii in June '07.

I was sure Sony would win, and wanted them to do better than MS. I felt MS is already in our lives too much with windows, office, etc, and Sony had provided me with 2 great consoles in the past. To be honest, I always liked Ninty consoles the best, and even loved the purple lunchbox.

Now I no longer have a PS3 (had no patience to wait through the ridiculous drought of no games), but Wii60. I am glad Wii will probably win the generation, and really don't care who comes in second. I think the 360 had a great 2007, but Sony is going to take second in 2008.

Even though they won the HD format war, it really bothers me that Sony was willing to risk it's goodwill and reputation with gamers to push a media player format. This has ended up in their favor, but might not have. And I still think MS is too intrusive in our lives.

It's also nice to see a 3,000 employee company not only compete but win against 2 huge corporations that are much larger than just their gaming divisions. It means the littler guy (and yes Ninty IS the David) can compete against these 2 Goliath giant companies.

Personally i still kinda think that the ps3 can still win this generation. i do not believe that the wii is still going to have such impressive sales in a couple of years time, but i am most likly going to be wrong.

Who cares if a cheap console outsales the most expensive. They are put side by side here like they offer the same. Whats wrong with u people? Im guessing that 60-70% of the people that bought a wii so far bought it because is cheap. I know many of u thinking that its success came from somewhere else, but the truth is different..You all say wii is a great console, its a fun console, nothing great about it. As for PS3 60% of the people that wanted one didnt bought because they couldnt afford one or thought that its just expensive.

Well it's defeat of the 360 is FAR from a certainty.  Thats an idea we should visit in mid-2009.

But I'm telling you buddy, a console whos predeccessor had over 70% market share that goes on to be facing a maximum of 35% lost BIGTIME! 

 psp is at 170 in our country and some stores have upped the price to 180 and the wii is at 250...lol

yeah u r correct, psp is at 170 and wii is at 250. what is funny here is that even with xbox the cheapest of the 3 it cant sale the expected....and PS3 being way more expensive than the others it can be close to wii sales.

yeah this is maybe a little off, but im sure the wii (giving room for wii2) will be dead a lot sooner than PS3
