Anime or Manga?

Anime 52 65.82%

Manga 21 26.58%

I'm too edgy for either one 6 7.59%

Total:79

If you were given the manga and anime version of a series, would you read it or choose to watch the anime instead?

Edit; in this hypothetical situation, the manga and anime are of equal quality

Depends on the genre, and the quality of the original work. Typically I prefer the source material in any medium, but I have seen a lot of anime that do a great job adapting and/or supplementing the original work. Hunter x Hunter and Shingeki no Kyojin are two popular series in which I'd strongly recommend the anime over the manga, for instance.

Typically though, I'm happier with the manga. Certain things don't lend themself well to animation, and you're always running the risk of the studio either rushing the material and skipping important scenes, or bloating it with fillers and useless content.

Anime unless Manga has uncensored bewbs and the anime doesn't

VA, Music, animation and color all makes me immersed a ton more than manga does.

(Unless its a shit anime but there are shit mangas too)

I think I should point out that in this hypothetical situation, both the anime and manga are equally good to make it more air.

Are we talking rushed 13 episode anime, or fleshed out 24?

Based on the source? Some? Not at all?

I really enjoy action and sports anime. I can constantly re-watch those. Where as something like Tower of god I will read and re-read over and over.

just edited my original post.

This is under the assumption that the anime and manga are equal in your eyes.

If they are equal? Anime.

Music (really important aspect for me), VAs, animation, ect. all of that makes me like anime more than manga.

Totally not biased, buuuuuuuut anime ;)

It depends. HaitusXHaitus 2011 is better than the manga. I like most manga's equal to the anime. Tokyo Ghoul has a better Manga than anime. It's really a case by case thing.  Usually if I ready ahead in a manga like Food Wars, I won't have interest and won't watch the next season.

Anime and Studying is life RN

With the exception of Assassination Classroom, where I collect and read the manga, I generally prefer anime. It just feels more "alive" to me (Japanese voice-acting can portray emotions wonderfully imo).
