Or like, if PS4 is to be substituted in 2 years by PS5 and the 4k TVs adoption rate doesn't show a profit on including the drive on PS4Pro that would be a reason.

To me, the most likely scenario is that if Sony were to reveal that newer standard BR drives hooked up to powerful hardware such as a computer or ps4/xb1 were just a firmware upgrade away from playing 4K content barring other physical hardware limitations such as HDMi2.0, then it would make the whole concept of "luxury $600 UHD player" obsolete and the profit margins would come way down for the rest of the members in the Blu Ray Association including big name players like Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Pioneer and a few more. The newer triple layer disc and drive speed is where the premium comes in, but with newer manufacturing techniques I can't fathom that there was ever any percievable increase in material cost.

You are possibly right, but in 2 years it will probably does down from luxury and enter normal market so Sony would be able to put it easier on the console without burning itself.

PS4 succeed sales over XBone mainly because it was made focus more on gaming...

but now all the negative report because it's not having a 4k blu-ray drive movie player...

seems like consumers demand from a gaming console have changed...

Mind that internet outcry and real costumer response are quite different, while it will cost a few sales from 4K BR enthuasiasts, I believe that the mainstream market already moved to streaming a long time ago.

I watched the video. I guess it is saying Sony is why the PS4P doesn't play 4K discs? We knew that already.

I think it only adds value to the console and people should respect others who find value in that. Just because you use your console solely to play games doesn't mean everyone should do so and not care whether they can play 4K BR in it or not. I live in Canada and playing 4K movies will be easyier by buying/renting 4K BR than streaming it because our internet is shit and expensive.

PS2 was a cheap DVD player, PS3 was a cheap BR player and people found value in these hardware business. Now that Sony doesn't add it some would do anything to either attack Sony or attack those who think it was a mistake and they will get the competition instead... just use it the way you want and let people decide if they want to invest in it or not...

Its not a bias video, its a valid argument more these 4K consoles.

I stream 1080p but it still looks worse than a DVD.

then get a 4K Blue Ray player, this is a gaming console the Xbox One S is 3 times less powerfull than the Pro and costs almost the same

The X1 S is priced about the same as UHD players. So obviously you would recommend the X1 S over a UHD player, right?

The Pro is $100 more, nobody said X1 and PS4 had almost the same price at launch.

its a lot inferior to real UHD players, like the noise. Its 100€ more but 3 times more powerfull thats even more than the OG PS4 to the Xbox One during launch

Oh boy, you're grasping at straws. X1 S is a UHD player and a great gaming machine for a price lower than the average UHD player.

The extra power of PS4 Pro is appealing, but its primarily being used on resolution. I would certainly recommend buying a Pro over a standard PS4 just incase more games take advantage of that power for more than resolution. But if consumers want a powerful game console than Scorpio is worth waiting for.

I don't think PS4 Pro is gonna have much impact on X1 S because its still cheaper and there is an audinece that wants MS titles. Being the best UHD player around doesn't hurt either.

For a small portion of the market UHD will be important and for another portion MS games will also be desirable (not sure why they wouldn't have bought up to now, so not sure which game they are waiting to flood in, perhaps GoW4).

But I can't think of a reason to say UHD capability would be a bad thing on X1S (unless after PS4S cuts price they can't keep up, which I doubt).

For many people the $299 is still a lot of money, especially if they're still getting enjoyment out of a 7th gen console. Those devices are great for popular streaming apps and have a massive library of notable games (many active online games). This is why you can still find 7th gen hardware and games at any major retailer. On my friends list I still see a lot of people playing 360 games (BC is helping with that as well).

UHD is certainly an advantage, but I guess people want to downplay it for obvious reasons. Physical movie sales are down, but many people still rent physical movies. I'd like to see UHD movies in the Redbox and consoles can help make that happen.

I can only downplay it for Brazil because I'm yet to find a 4K BD here.

Sure there are people still playing on X360, that is why I said there probably aint a specific game they are waiting, price point is more likely as you said, but on that they shall go to PS4 instead of X1 in the end.
