Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon U.S. October bestsellers and general Amazon-based discussion

Its winning the hourlies but the monthlies still show PS4 ahead, so I think people are waiting, perhaps for bundles and sales are not that great right now, or at least on amazon to make a difference.

Dont get me wrong I do think people are waiting for PS4Pro, and I think gears is definately selling a few consoles, but at the moment its all a bit quiet, I think Sony will have a final PS4OG sale in USA before the new console bundles and thats when I think we'll see the big difference happen.

Ignore the initial monthly result. Right now the XB1 is leading consistantly in the hourlies and if it stays that way the XB1 will win Oct. That's the current 'trend' for the hourlies and we won't know how consistant that trend is until a couple of weeks in. The next test of that trend will be when Gears actually releases. Will we see a continuation of the XB1 winning or will it slide once the initial buzz has gone? And as we get closer to the PS4pro launch, will less people buy the PS4slim (which affects this month) and opt to wait for the PS4pro (which affects next month)?

But, if I had to call it now (which would be premature) I'd say an XB1 win.

There is not much reason to buy the Minecraft bundle when BF1 is right arround the corner.

PS: Which are those 14 SKUs? I can see only nine and 2 are out of stock.

You're are right, there aren't 14 SKUs, I just checked so. There are in fact 25 so I've updated. Whether they are out of stock or not, they're bundles on Amazon and are just waiting to be restocked.

We are pretty much agreeing, which is, its too early too tell considering there is so much more than the first week Gears of War boost to consider this month. I dont think we are disagreeing here. I think we wont know much better until the 3rd week, just because of everything going on.

Yes, a week is a decent indicator of how things 'could' go, 2 weeks is the point at which you'd start considering the trends seriously and 3 weeks is usually when you can start drawing 'proper' conclusions from the trends. The 4th week usually seals the deal, unless something like last month happens of course.

great stuff, looks like its going to be a close race like expected, next month is decided, but this month is looking more and more like the xbox will barely edge out over the PS4, im sure the good reviews for gears are really helping :)

"Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

I think you don´t know what SKUs are or how restoking works.

I urge you to stop this nonsense. You are manking things more complicated.

I'm confused, people were saying that XBO will take October easily, but at the moment, the UC4 S is leading the october monthlies.. have i missed something somewhere?

Anyone saying the XB1 would 'definitely' win October easily was using wishful thinking. Anyone one saying the PS4 will 'definitely' win October is being premature.

It's FAR too early to call but right now the XB1 is winning in the hourlies and has been for quite some time now.

I think that the ones who purchase the Gears bundle will be able to play the game early than other people. That is a great value.

I don't think that any company should make any  flash sales right now. We are 1 month away from the Black Friday.

The monthly ranks has 3 days of delay. The Xbox One being the best selling in the Amazon's rank hasn't showed yet.
