Forums - Gaming - I just played metal gear solid for the first time in my life..

Dam is there a reason why the ps1 metal gear needs two discs?

I personally wasn't blown away by MGS, but I was one of the only ones, so I know it is good. I am much more partial to MGS2 and MGS3.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Also, I reserved metal gear solid 4 in gamestop, the guy told me he will call april 12th which is when the beta is released, and he will give me the key.

Um cutscenes? There are alot of ps1 games with two discs , because of the fmv. The n64 didn't have fmv , because there would be like 10-20 cartridges.

I would play MGS 4, I have not played the first three games. I do not care much for old games with questionable graphics.

Thats what I thought as well, MGS1 has terrible graphics, looks very bad. But its still completely in another league compared to all the games I have ever played, only super mario RPG was this good.   You should buy the essential collection, brings all 3 games and its only $29.99

The ps1 game has a black disc... pretty wierd and amazing at the same time.

I've only played MGS3 and I didn't like it :/

The stealth was crap, the camera was annoying and there were more cutscenes than actual gameplay.....which was actually fine by me, because I had more fun watching them than playing the game itself.

$30 for three games sounds like a good deal. But I only have time to play the latest games available and I buy games solely for excellent graphics and online play.
