Forums - Gaming - I just played metal gear solid for the first time in my life..

Equip that Famas, and don't stop moving!!

Well, since part four is coming out soon, you've inspired me to play through the whole series again. Twin Snakes, here I come!

Around the Network

How the hell is Twin Snakes a good game? The cinematics were terrible, do you honestly think that a 35 year drunk could do triple back flips, jump off missiles and dodge bullets?

Worst remake ever.

Yeah. I agree, Slums. Twin Snakes is a step forward and a step back from the original. While I like the updated visuals, some of the updates (Snake Headbutting Liquid on that jeep, Sniper Wolfe's finale, and Snake's super human abilities) really make me roll my eyes.

It's still the best version of an awesome game. It's just not what it could have been.

Well Ive gone past that idiot physco guy, and am now past that sniper, and passed the liquid encounter(What a shock), and back at the communications tower, cant finish climbing it though, too many guards will try later though.

That's exactly the spot I got to when I quit. I can't give you any hints, though, because I never tried to get past the sniper.

That said, I'm picking up the essentials collection so I can play MGS2/3. I'm hoping I enjoy those more than MGS.

Metal Gear Solid games are *not* meant to be taken seriously.

Well I passed the communications thing, and now fighting a helicopter with liquid, easy so far.

Only unintellectuals not willing to think don't like MGS2, don't listen to them, it's by far the best in the series

If you're into whiny emo bitches and overly convoluted plot lines, I guess it's a great game.

Or maybe I'm just an idiot and the game went completely over my head.

*rolls eyes*

That one. Convoluted is a good thing for people who enjoy actually thinking (you know, a rare commodity in the 21st century). The story line is insanely deep and hard to grasp but the fact you didn't replay it a few more times to understand it isnt a testament of a bad game but rather an unintelligent person. You should read the TUS sites Gene Meme Scene feature which explains the genius of the game better as well as James Howells essay on it, the game make perfect sense if you're willing to invest in it. But you must be willing to spend hour researching and pondering about the games real meaning and messages.

Welcome to the party. Now play it until you get the tuxedo, stealth and the bandana.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Last Finished: BulletStorm

Online IDs: PSN: computermaximus, XBL: computermaximus

I could hardly stomach my time through Twin Snakes. My room mate, his friends, and i agree that Twin Snakes has really terrible cinematics. I think they created them as a tribute to Snake, which is probably why he's they make him able to do all of these bullcrap moves.

I hate that peice of $hit metal gear, I had two rotations and full health and the leg stomped me into oblivion. I lost in one hit wtf.. His health was down to one more hit and he's dead..

Almost beat the game..
