Forums - Gaming - Does SuperSmash Brothers Brawl (SSBB) make other fighting games seem dated?

Does SSBB make other fighting games seem dated? It has the most enormous soundtrack that I know of. It's got a stage editor. A decent single player story mode. Mini-games, polish on everything, tons of fan service, etc. The most feature-rich game that I can think of at the moment.

And are other fighting games going to evolve some in response to SSBB or is SSBB too much of a casual game for other fighting games to be affected by SSBB's style and scope?

There isn't much way for most fighters to evolve. Not many fighters make extensive use of in game objects the way SSBB does.

Hmmm... I think Soul Calibur isn't dated!... But that's just my opinion! Brawl will rock though (STILL hasn't come out yet in EU)

THE NETHERLANDS

I can't find SSBB casual, but the whole packpage is not going to be a trend, SSBB is great, it could get really hard and needs tons of time and efford to get all the things, most of the Fight games are just going to focus in the fight (1 vs 1 or 1 vs IA) and thats why I think they are keep fading away...

SBB introduced a strange fun factor, which I couldn't find in other fighting games (MK, KI, SF, KoF), and they just keep using it to expand the game...

Edit: Oh yeah the fun factor for me, is the chaos...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

I think the only true fighters are Super smash bros, and the dragonball Z series on the ps2.

Everything else to me is just technical wanna be's, street fighter in my opinion is the best fighter ever created behind the first 2 franchises I mentioned above. I cant wait until the PSN game is released.

I think brawl has a style all in its own....so i cant really compare them to the street fighter and soul caliburs of the world....both have there fun aspects

No, Brawl is a different genre of fighting game.

That's like saying that Gears of War makes Halo 3 outdated.

I like Brawl so much because of the people you get to fight with, Soul Calibur 3 was good but the only person I really liked in it was Link.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

I think you mean Soul Calibur 2.

Besides, the Sims has more features than Brawl.
