I only saw the initial CG preview from E3'15 and was passively interested in the concept...but seeing game footage now in every regard it looks like a (very) poor man's Ratchet & Clank. What the hell happened?

Easy, they showed off a AAA level cinematic trailer for an A game.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Looks like the 2 minute load screen is debunked. It is only around 20-30 seconds. Not too bad for an open world game.

It varies greatly, some have had really long ones, others its only 40-50sec.

^ theres like 1.5hour or more of gameplay btw.

Apparently the loading screen takes longer after a death. Not all loading screens are 2min long, if your just going from point a) -> point b), its shorter than that.

(case in point, above they are 40-50sec)

It seems that most reports are saying 30 to 45 seconds. Certainly not 2 minutes. But it puts them in the same ballpark as pre patch Bloodborne.

Hope that its issues are predominantly technical and that the gameplay is still good. :-/

The 2 minute ones seem to be attached to deaths. Where as the others are just plain loading screens.

Really? That's insane. Even the longest BB loading times were under a minute.

Someone tracking their time going from point one, and fast traveling to another point.
Followed by intentionally dying and tracking that time.

Ouch those loading times might get annoying. Depends how frequently you're dying or have to fast travel so we'll see. Luckily rest of the game is looking very good. I have to wait until Friday to play..

He has a 1m14sec load to a zone via fast travel, at first (one of the more demanding zones though).

Then he dies in that zone, and it takes it 1m45sec before hes back.

This is on a new Xbox One, where the hard drive is clean, and he only has 1 game (this) installed.

If you have a older Xbox, and have installed alot of games and fragmented the harddrive from doing so, it could very well be over 2minuets of load time if you die in this game.

From what I've googled, ReCore’s review embargo is up on Monday at 5am PDT.

Are first impressions not compared review embargoes? Or is this person in trouble of getting DMCA'd?

It depends on if he got his copy as a review copy or just bought it from someone breaking street date for him. If it's the former, pretty sure you can't say much of anything beyond "review to come" or risk legal action. If it's the latter, which I think is the case here, he can say whatever he wants. Little stores breaking street date for independent game reviewers may be the only way to get around these anti-consumer embargos.

Day one for me, still. Is there a physical release because I plan on buying it digitally just so it can be ready when I get home on Tuesday.
