So he should pay $718 dollars plus tax? Still a better deal to just pay $300 for One S and then buy scorpion next year. |
Personally, I would rather get the best of both worlds but that's just me.

The confusion in this thread stems from forumers, who are a tiny population, & are "exclusive" fans that are baffled by this decision. Reality is, most ps/xb consumers are there to get the best 3rd party on console experience. OP seems like a Ninty guy, that gets his 3rd party fix from MSony. hes not pretending to be a disgruntled sony fan, and now moving to the dark side lol. http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/69/playstation-4/ Where are the exclusives on this list, closer to the top or bottom? exactly Again - the vast majority to XB/PS users are to get the best 3rd party experience on consoles. I have owned MS consoles for 2 gens in a row now, not out of fandom but out of necessity (thanks to Nintendo since Wii underpowered bs). Also owned PS3 slim, because it featured blu ray (and yes obviously games, but dont really care for sony exclusives). People need to chill on trolling accusations, everyone should know its a 3rd party driven business. Even xb1, who is crushed by PS4, has its best selling games from 3rd parties, almighty halo is not #1 and only 2 ms exclusives from their top 10, 3 in top 20. most PS XB owners could give a rats about exclusives and are not company fanboys, proof is in the game sales. |
Console wars are very serious business

Lol so you bought a 4k TV and now you're going with the xbox slim over the neo. I would understand if you said scorpio!
Ps4 pro much better option for gaming and 4k streaming is the future rather than overpriced 4k blu rays. It's your choice though and if buying 4k films on blu ray is that important then go for it. Personally I buy my console with just gaming in mind and anything thereafter is a bonus.
Yeah dude, great choice. What games will you pick up? I thought horizon and all those ps4 exclusives looked weak anyway. Pick up gears for sure... Gotta kill the hoarde

Killer Instinct for sure, played that at my brothers place and it's awesome. Maybe Halo 5? That Recore game looks cool.

That (the event was really bad and I expected way more from the Play Station Four Pro).
While the Slim can play the 4K BR, maybe you could wait for the Scorpio tho :) Which will offer both!

I don't really buy the 4k drive costs that much. If it did I doubt MS would've made it standard with all new Xbox units. IMO Sony is trying to push users to its Vue service but I'm not interested in stream quality. |
I wouldn't know, I just thought someone said stand-alone UHD players were expensive.
As for the Xbox S, that's the choice being made. It's $349 for a 1TB Madden bundle. I have to assume the price has been bumped up for the sake of video playback. It seems like we have two companies putting their priorities in somewhat different places. Customers will fall on both sides of each respective compromise, of course. Will be interesting to see which one is more meaningful overall.

The 500gb One S comes with Halo 5 for $300 and Master Chief Collection.
I'm gonna get that one. If you get a different one, I'll sell you the game. I have zero interest in Halo 5 and the Master CHeif Collection comes with the system.

Because it would mean that they have to admit their fave company (lets really not try to deny that happening here) has skipped out on an option that the least 2 gens have provided consumers of that branded platform.
I remember at the time when people bought PS3's last gen because they were cheaper than all out expensive standalone Blu ray players, the fact it played games made it all the more appealing, apparently this gen that "doesn't matter" and now we're into making the want for such an option as a bad thing or the "wrong" opinion to have.
Having a system that can do 4k blu ray media (and streaming included) as well as play games would have made decisions for some all the more easier to make.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
