This is... unbelievable
No 4k blu-ray but "mass effect: unchartered in space trailer" looked great - higher res graphics makes games more fun right?
How much data can a 4K Blu Ray store? If it was more than 50GB I guess it could help with certain games (though I guess not since everything is installed these days).
But hey, it only cost 399 so you have to be happy.
So the device that Sony has been selling as THE playstation console for 4k won't play 4K Blu-Rays?
How is that possible. Like, how would Sony even make this decision.
This is a big deal, I love blue ray discs and collecting them, 4k picture on UHD is amazing!, since this is the "4k" entry for sony, it seems like a big miss! they are supposed to support their own blue ray platforms lol

4K blue-rays was one of the main reasons I was willing to trade in my ps4 for the new one.
Looks like I will save up some money instead.

Be honest, you were never going to buy a Pro. |
Depended on price and disc support. Seeing how Sony TV's dont' support Dolby Digital I didn't expect the PS4 Pro to, but I held out hope. If it did, it would have been for sure a major bonus.
Price at $399 ain't bad at all. I'd be willing to fork over a some extra for it I think over One S due to there being a couple of games I do want to play on PS4. Horizon being one of them.
But for the most part I don't buy many ps or xbox games. I mostly game on PC. Thus my decision was for the multimedia reasons.
PS4 Pro immediately became worthless to me seeing this news.
.... who seriously still buys movies on discs?
I dont even buy games on discs anymore.... but thats just me i guess.
