LOL!!! Are you serious? The One S isn't even as powerful as the regular PS4. xD

While the PS4 Pro is more than twice as powerful as the regular PS4.

Drop the kool-aid.

Twice as powerful. Those are empty words. Having double the gpu or wahtever doesn't make something that much better.

Watchign those trailers and gameplay, did ANYTHING look like night and day compared to what you have been seeing for those games for months now on PS4 trailers?

lol of course it didn't because we all watched it in 1080p!

I was underwhelmed too at first, until I told my self that naturally you need a 4K screen to enjoy the 4K resolution.

Mark Cerny should become a voice actor. He sounds so much as that master wizard in Skyrim.

Such superb intonation and pleasant base voice. Would love to hear him in games.

I went in expecting to not be shown anything to convince me to buy the Neo, and nothing has changed with that expectation.

Still it should provide a sizable boost for the holidays with its low ish price. Past that? I am not so sure.

That didnt take long.

The PS4.... eveey single PS4 including the og and the slim is exactky what the XB1s is whej they getbtheir HDR update.  However, dont forget that the XB1s is steal nowjere nesr as powerful as the og PS4.

PS4p is its own thing. But yh, keep living in denial.

I'm not in denial. I waited till today to see which one to buy. The Xbox One S or the PS4 Neo (now Pro)

This conference showed me absoultely NOTHING that sets this Pro above the Xbox One S. NOTHING. Heck, it might even be lacking the sole reason I want a new system. Something to play 4k Blu Rays. Sony said nothing in regards to if it could or not.

So tell me why I should spend and extra $100 for the Pro.

Am I broke? No. I just spent over 3k on a new TV. I can handle buying the Pro at its cost. But I'm also not loose with my money. I don't spend needlessly on something when there is something else completely equivalent for cheaper. (and as I said, can do what I want. The Pro for all I know can't play 4k blu rays)

if you are buying a 4k gaming console primarily to play 4k bluray movies and the PS4p doesmt support that?

Then by all means get an XB1s. Its an awesome value for a 4k bluray player.

In my opinion, the most significant thing to take from this is the fact ALL PS4s will soon use HDR, something MS have used extensively to promote the XB1s. Sony cut them off at the legs with that statement.

The PS5 Exists.

So let me get this straight. All PS4 models will get a firmware upgrade to support HDR. So far so good. But if you're running the PS4 to a receiver, should that receiver be HDR compatible? Does a new receiver that supports HDR need to be bought so the signal isn't loss when going to the tv?

PS4 Pro is more powerful, no?

It's more powerful maybe. In the same way that the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox One.

A few extra fps or pixels. Who cares. They are never game breaking differences, and usually only noticable when watching some frame rate video.

They both will get the same games, play them nearly identical.

It is basicall just a X Box One S, Sony version.

As it turns out, quite a lot of people care :p The desire for "a few extra fps or pixels" is one of the driving forces behind the resurgence of PC gaming. It's perfectly fine if that's not something you find appealing, but it's silly to take those feelings and act like they're a universal constant.

But I don't get that though.

What benefit does one get from that?

Only 4k tv's support HDR. So you need a 4k tv anyway, so 1080p people are ignored.

HDR from what I've read requires a hdmi 2.0 port to send that much data, yet the current ps4's do not have one. That port is not something one can just firmware in. That's a hardware thing.

This is $50 more than the One S with the same sized HDD. That's going to be a crazy power bump for $50.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I think it was clever they made it very very clear that there is a reason to buy the devices even if you DON'T have a 4k TV.

Saves them the headache of what happened with phil spencer. The whole "don't buy this if you don't have one" mess.

But to me it sounds like a lie.

I don't think its possible to do HDR without a HDMI 2.0 port.

Not to mention only 4k tv's support HDR. Look online and find me a 1080p tv that supports hdr.
