Well, that's great to hear for Persona. Now, if only I didn't have to wait until February to be able to play this game :(

39? Well so much for the day 1 purchase. Guess I will wait for the 10 dollar bargain bin goty edition that didn't deserve it.

On a more serious note, as someone who has never played a Persona game (but I have Persona 4 Golden in my Gamefly queue at #1 just waiting for them to ship the damn thing) will I be missing out having not played the previous entries?

No, every new main entry is entirely seperate and has nothing to do with previous games. At worst you might miss a cheeky reference here or there.
