You must not have a lot of experience with retail or car buying because majority of companies of mid to large size treat you like dirt and children if and when they can get away with it.

No doubt there are some notorious retail segments that are not consumer friendly - Cable is another horrendous one- but there are still alot that are always trying to reasonably meet their consumers wants and needs
