The Wii is the most I have EVER paid for a gaming console @ $250. PS1 was $200, N64 was $100 or so, PS2 was $200, Gamecube was $150, Dreamcast was $125 w/3 games. I can't remember the SNES price and my NES was a gift. :p I guess my "bite-point" will either be a no-bc sub-$200 PS3 (with a better game library than it has now for the games *I* play), or a PS3 WITH good backwards compatibility for $250 with a bit better library than it has now. I currently have 8 PS3 games on my watch list (none of them are FPS games OR first party titles), and that still doesn't promise I will get them even if I do get a PS3 since they may not turn out to be good. I have a VERY small budget (I don't have a job, I take care of my family full-time), so the more money I spend on hardware, the less I spend on games. I was memorized by Nintendo's E3'06, and decided then-and-there to get a Wii at launch. Between E3'06 and the November launch I bought only 3 games that I decided were "MUST-GET" like Disgaea 2 for PS2. The last 2 games I bought were Mario Galaxy and Fire Emblem : Radiant Dawn (2nd fav SRPG ever!), while I had Soul Calibur Legends and One Piece : Unlimited Adventure on my list of games, their reviews pushed them down to bargain-bin pickups. Some favorable reviews of Opoona make me want the game, but my existing budget is going towards Mario Kart Wii next month, and I'm kinda strapped for extra cash right now. >.Please understand that I am NOT bashing the PS3 in any way for any other owners of the console. I am simply stating that my interest in it currently is very low, and is a *long* way away from being worth considering a purchase. Btw, my interest in Final Fantasy XIII games is VERY low, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in Final Fantasy XII, and XIII is looking like it's taking the same style of gameplay. And I have NEVER enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid series. But for a sneaker I would LOVE a new Thief game. :D
Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
