Forums - Nintendo - I think I'm sold on the Nintendo NX because I think I know the info we are missing

It's a VR visor.

Detach the controllers, slide the tablet into the visor and you have a VR system.

That's it the tablet will have the required features for VR including motion tracking etc.

Powerful enough to provide great quality cartoon graphics suitable for Nintendo games

Not powerful enough to compete with PS4 and Xbone or the later versions but it doesn't have to.

May even offer 2 player games through the hdmi connection and second controller

In power somewhere between the samsung mobile VR platform and PS4 VR but closer to the Samsung end.

Surely a real possibility for the secret sauce of NX.

If NX is indeed an hybrid device powered by a Tegra X1 or X2, it won't have the power to run games at the needed resolution and frames per second that VR demands, unless they use Wii level of graphics. And despite what many claim, very few would accept going back to worse graphics even if they are in VR.

Plus, if VR was the plan, we would have heard about it in the many, many leaks and rumors we've had.

Please excuse my bad English.

So its a handheld... a homeconsole.... and it can work like those Smartphone VR headsets too?

Thats a intresting theory.
I dont see why that cant be at all possible.. but I just think it would be too heavy, to work the same way Smartphone VR headsets do.

...and the name?

Haha, that's one of the few reasons I would not buy the console.

I hope it will be worth the purchase. But, right now, i lost all my trust in nintendo. It will take maaaany class A titles to win me back.
And if they dont finally provide 1 account for everx machine, they have 0 chance. I will never buy a mario title again for different systems.

Oh god I hope not

Yeah, it better not be the case...

No. Nintendo doesnt have the means for VR hardware.

Hunting Season is done...

I'm a huge fan of VR so very biased but I still think its a realistic possibility. If you look at the smartphone VR experience and think beyond that but not as far as the PS4 VR headset you get something as stated that is perhaps around wii level graphics that could pull of a virtual reality version of Mario Galaxy for example or Zelda windwaker in a totally immersive environment that could react fast enough as you move your head with the required high frame rates.I guess Zelda U is the performance level it could achieve as I'm sure if VR is the secret sauce that game will be compatible.

The easy clip off gamepads are perfect for use with a VR headset.

To be honest VR is the only thing I can think of that will prevent NX being dead on arrival.
