Bayonetta is not sexist.

No game is, really.

Have you ever heard of Dead or Alive xtreme beach volleyball. If that isn't objectifying women I don't know what is.

Hmm... are you sure?

Pretty much. At least if we go by the actual definition of sexism. If we go by the feminazi definition of "every depicture of a woman not being absolutely equal or capable as a man or showing the bare skin of a woman" then every game is sexist."

How is that sexist though? Are you calling every man who ever appreciated the body of a woman a sexist?

This reminds me of this shortversion of Lord of the Rings.
Translation from Swedish:
1st panel:
Frodo gets an assignment.
DESTROY!

2nd panel:
They walk for a while and then split up.
We who are big do the easy stuff and you small people do all the dangerous stuff

3rd panel:
A lot of people ride back and forth
4th panel:
The ring is destroyed
Frodo goes back home
NICE!

I don't get the joke.

No but designing a game around the (near perfect) body of woman comes pretty close. But I don't care about that since I enjoy the view nonetheless. But on a political level I can see why people call the game sexist since it objectifies women purely as lust objects like porn does.

As for OP I enjoy sexist media and non sexist media since sexism in media doesn't bother me. Why  you ask, because it is fiction and fantasy. Besides it's not like men and women where considered equal in the dark ages in which era Zelda takes place to begin with. So damsel in distress scenario is pretty accurate for that time.

Damn, this explains why all the girls break up with me right after I ask them if they have played ALttP. Thank you for this enlightening thread, I'm going to go throw my copies of ALttP into the sea now and move on to become a better man.

Sexism or gender discrimination is prejudice or discrimination based on a person's sex or gender.

Where is the predjudice and discrimination when making a video game with sexy women? Are women who dress sexy also sexists because they objectify women? Are women who are helpless in real life and are asking a man to help them sexist?

People really need to learn the difference between depicting something and intending something.

Perhaps not but God of War sure is. Besides if entertainment says a lot about a person like think Zelda link to the past is great making you sexist. I can't imagine what Bayonetta makes me. Besides the game is intentionally objectifying woman, unlike OP I am not a SJW and I don't give a crap about that. I think it is humorous in an odd kind of way to strip to summon a demon.

Well, Bayonetta is designed like that because of the enemies she's fighting. Angels, holy and venerated creatures. Defeated in brutal and bloody ways by a woman who dresses in a very provocative way, acts with lust and uses a strong language with them. It's like the very embodiment of everything the church and christian religion hate.

As for the stripping thing... it's actually explained and makes sense. Witches use their hair as a catalyst for their magical power and to make their own clothing That's not a thing they made up to take off Bayonetta's clothes: there are actual myths and legends about this facts all across Europe. The more power they use, the more hair they need.

So... no sexism here. Because it's only sexist if that's what the person that made the game intended to do. It's like racism. I don't know in other countries, but here in Spain calling a black person "black" can be seen as something racist and disrespectful. BUT, it's not always the case, as a lot of people just use the world "black" without any intention to offend. So, it's not something intrinsically racist, but some people can see it that way.

In videogames, Dead or Alive is totally sexist, because the creators actually wanted to make the women on their videogame as much of an object as they could. Which women are not. Heck, they even said that the made tits bigger and with better animation because that's what fans wanted and that they wanted to content fans xD

Well, my definition also includes "underestimates or disrespects people because of their sex". So yes, Dead or Alive is sexist as fuck, because it makes women look like items. When they are far more than that.

It makes women look sexy. What people think of them is a different matter.

Being called sexist just because you don't appreciate a women's character and maybe really just find her body attractive is ridiculous. Especially coming from a man.

I go by train to work every day. I see a lot of very sexy women and I look at them because I like what I see. Now you are calling me sexist because I don't walk over and ask them for their name and hobbies? I watch porn because it's stimulating to watch. I don't give a shit about the character of the actors because my body doesn't give a shit either. Again, I must be a horrible sexist objectifying women like that. I'm not even mentioning that we're talking about fiction here, which is intended to stimulate without unnecessary details. Yesterday I dreamed about a beautiful woman giving me a blowjob, yet I didn't even ask for her name. Then I went to the police let them arrest me because I produced sexist material. And you know what was the worst about all this? It was also racist because the woman I dreamed about wasn't even black because I'm not attracted to black women. I'm just the worst scum aren't I?

I would tell you more but I gotta go meet up with my KKK brothers sexually abusing some Jewish women.

You should really listen to yourself.
