Sony has been stating latly that the PSP is a ten year product, and that they want the PS3 to last 10 years... Who thinks this is too long? I think a generation should last at most 7 years, where the PS2 is now, at least until we reach the point when the consoles graphics cannot be surpassed and the console has many extra features. Who agrees with me?

There fore I think that this whole "Ten Year Product" Idea, will not survive for long. 

Yeah is prob gonna be way to long and fade out when its 7 years old.

it wont last ten years once nintendo and microsoft release there next consols so will sony

the PS1 was around for 10 years btw, the PS2 definitely will make it to 10 years... it's still selling at a scary rate for a 7 year old console

i say whatev, if it's still cool in ten years more power to them.

that doesnt mean they wont keep the ps3 around

 Yes, but the PS3's and PSP's sales aren't exactly stellar compared tot eh PS1 and PS2.

 There we go. When they talk about a 10 year lifespan they're not saying that there won't be a replacement for another 10 years, but only that they think that product will last 10 years.

It'll be interesting to see if they do. 

Just because they aren't selling the same rate doesnt mean it isn't justifiable to keep it for 10 years. it's easier already having a product and working with it than scrapping a product and making a new one
