Personally, I am the most eager to find those nova kid villages to see what they're like. It's good to see they finally have their own villages.
Also, for anyone interested in playing Starbound, it is on sale at 15% off on steam. It's not a lot, but hey, a sale is good. Just another friendly reminder on it.
I never went too far into the story, but if there weren't Novakid villages I'm guessing there were at least Novakid temples to explore for their research quest? Is good to see the class is no longer shafted. I wonder what happens if one of the places where the Novakids villages were used by a player to construct something. Race to see who gets the first Novakid village pic?

Well, I guess I can't say it without going into spoilers. There's no quest to scan Nova kid things, since they didn't have villages, nor serve any purpose in the story. They were kinda given the shaft in the game. At least now Novakid villages are in, and the race is on! x )
But I cheated. They are western themed so I found one in a dry grassland planet. I bet desert planets are a go too.
I still like the idea of races in the future. But has to be something that cannot be done by simply googling it xD

I'm a little late to say, but I found a novakid village as well, and it was pretty cool. It was like rolling into the wild west, complete with sandstorms too. It was a bit of a small town, but nice to see the race finally have their own places in the universe. Unfortunately I forgot to save pictures of the village. I'll post some the next time I find one...
I think they rushed the release. Probably, I'm guessing here, because they wanted it officially out before No Man Sky. Too bad if that is the reason, they didn't really need to worry. They should had waited to have the Novakid villages ready. And maybe a mission or two.

Yeah, it would have been nice if they at least waited to add the Nova kids. Adding them to the story may have delayed the official release by quite a bit longer. I think it was fine as it released. If they changed the story to be much more interesting, it would have likely taken the game a lot longer to release officially. At least now they can keep adding on top of it.
Heya guys! It's been awhile, but there's a new update for the game! It's the 1.2 update! This one adds some post game content so you have more to do after you beat it! The new features include:
Ancient Vault
Players who have completed the main storyline can visit a mysterious trader on the Outpost who will send them on a quest to activate and enter the Ancient Gateways found floating in some systems
These gateways provide access to Ancient Vaults: challenging procedural dungeons left by the ancients, filled with dangerous guardians (including procedural bosses!) and fantastic lost technologies
Terraforming
Using powerful devices acquired from the Ancient Vaults along with a new Essence currency, you can now transform regions or whole planets into entirely different biomes
Terraformers can be used to expand a region across a planet’s surface, replacing natural blocks, objects and plant life, and eventually changing the type of the planet itself
Microformers are consumable single-use terraformers which provide even more region types to add to your worlds
Weapon Upgrades
Use the ancient anvil available at the end of Ancient Vaults and spend Essence to upgrade your outdated legendary weapons, opening up many new options for endgame combat styles
Elemental Damage
Monsters now have resistance and weakness to elemental damage types, making your choice of weapons more important than ever
Holiday Spirit
Celebrate the holidays with the variety of festive items bought from Space Santa at the Outpost!
...Or you can just watch the video to find out what they are.
