to be honest, this is how it should be done. console gaming is all about just popping that disc in and playing from the get go. more developers should be dedicated like this.
SE just messed up on the timing, and it may hurt them for it.

I've never done that so why would I start now
I'd be fine with even ten day one patches, or gbs worth of patches every single day, who cares ¯_(ツ)_/¯
whoever has an issue with that, be it because of internet or other reasons, is welcome to wait until a rerelease, if they are so welcoming of waiting more/delays ¯_(ツ)_/¯ if you ok the extra 2 months then ok the extra 12-16 months for goty edition ¯_(ツ)_/¯

By Nov 29 the casuals and those only mildly interested will have spent their money on other big releases as well as cheap stuff on Black Friday. |
October 2016 looks fantastic though doesnt it?
Look at these names
Gears 4
Paper Mario
Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4)
Battlefield 1
Last Guardian
Titan Fall 2
Skyrim Special Edition
Those games will combine a TON of sales. I havnt bought a new game on release for a long time, that month will see me buy 3.

I was really just trying to emphasize the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position that Square is in. I think the delay is pretty weak, and they should have included some of that DLC into the game as a real reason. But, I at least can admire their efforts.
