Forums - Gaming - No Man's Sky is a disaster on PC. Currently 31% positive on Steam.

Hehe: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=742403767

Already more than 26.500 user reviews/opinions on Steam, user rating is meanwhile at 57% positive.

The post-release buzz is arguably more entertaining than the game itself. I will still buy it (once it's outpatched, fully developed, optimized and discounted).

Isn't that always the case when a hyped game struggles to reach a Metascore of 70? For one, you get the people who don't want to admit that the game didn't turn out great, and two, if reviews are mixed, the game itself can't be all that entertaining.

Maybe, but I normally don't really care for hyped games.

When you look at the reviews and what they're saying, it looks like it was overhyped period.

A lesson we should have learned long ago: don't buy games based off of their trailers.

It sucks my PC friends can't enjoy this yet. Give it time, guys, Hello Games seems to be tackling everything as fast as it can.

I have time, but in all honesty it would have been nice to be playing the game since day 1, albeit I would have also loved a cheaper entry price to boot, I'd have grabbed it by then if both were met. It;s th whole process that they went through that doesn't feel like they legit cared as much, I mean it was just tossed into the wild and it;s bugged to hell with issues up the wazoo and the options menu not having an option to disable CA that even AAA devs have finally caught onto. If they were smart they would have delayed the PC version byt another month or hell why not even a year?, it would have sucked but it would have made it nearly flawless to run by then rather than buggy as hell now and many months later, possibly working that bit better.

Yea I refunded it and gonna yar it instead until it gets a massive discount... Devs need to learn that PCs have a refund system and nonsense like this is unacceptable

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The game runs great on my old laptop and is perfectly alt-tab safe.... through ps4 remote play.

Apart from 20% chance of crash on loading a save, a few random freezes requiring a forced shut down, and that game breaking bug that made me start over. At least you can get a refund on PC. I'm glad I didn't have that option as despite all the very rough edges, it's still growing on me. "Report error" grumble, when was the last restore point...

Anyway from what I've seen in the Steam discussion, best bet is to turn off v-sync and/or gsync whatever that is.

Are we guys all playing the same game here?.
For me the game runs great!, my specs are only an i5-2500K, AMD R9-280x, 8gb ram and it runs very smooth.
But saying that my GPU drivers are always up to date.
Maybe the game runs better on amd cards?.

I have basically zero problems as well.

Only two really. After about 4 hours of non stop playing, it slows to a crawl. Just have to quit and reload.

Second, I can't Alt Tab. So whatever is on my second monitor, just stays there the whoel time. I can't alt tab and look up something on internet, switch youtube video, or whatever I'm wanting to do on other monitor. When I alt tab the game minimizes and I can do stuff, but I can't maximiize it back up again. SO that is very annoying, but I assume will be fixed at some point. Jus tmeans I have to be completely dedicated to playing when I do turn it on. Also could very well be a way to get it maximize, but haven't tried too hard. Just tried alt tabbing again, clicking on the bar the icon, ect. The classic ways. None work.

But otherwise games runs smooth, no crashes, no bugs, love the pc controls and so on. I should hook up my flighstick and see if that works. Would be great to use that for flying.

Seems like a case of the studios ambition was to much for such a small studio to pull off. It's a shame it's such a mess on PC because it is a fun, pretty addictive game. Itll get fixed I have no doubt, just depends on how many players give it that chance.

Exactly this. Seems like it never should have been given the giant marketing and hype it was given. Hello Games didn't help though by over-promising on a lot of stuff. I've almost pulled the trigger on the PC version but I think I will wait for a sale, which shouldn't take too long with the bad performance of the game on PC.

Not surprising to me. A small development team like Hello Games doesn't have the resources (manpower) to test a complex game like No Man's Sky on every PC hardware configuration out there.

But i rather have it this way then another technically underwhelming and faceless indie game.
