Previously i was more interested in the expansion pack than the episodes, now it's the opposite

So... the DLC adds content that ordinarily would have been in the game from the start?

Oh and online expansion pack probably means online trophies, so the chances of me buying it have gone way down.

This might give you an idea of some of the things you can expect in the future. Unfortunately we can’t show you what any of the DLC looks like... The reason for this may surprise you (well, maybe...) The truth is that the DLC is not ready to show because while it has been designed, we will begin the development once the final game is in your hands.

The FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game just to sell to you later. This is really important because we want everyone who buys and plays the FFXV base game to know they are getting the full FFXV experience. The FFXV DLC will add new and unique experiences to the FFXV Universe with each piece of DLC designed to offer something brand new. So I’ll say it again because it’s important - the FFXV DLC is not content that has been cut from the main game!

Umm... this sounds like the definition of content stripped from the game to be sold as "DLC", will not be buying this cheap money grab by SE.

Yup, looks like I'm not getting this dlc.

By the way, being able to switch and play as every character was a thing in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Thanks a lot for taking that away Tabata...

Being able to play as every character in the party has been in every single final fantasy game until now, so I don't care what they say, removing a feature that has been standard for the series for decades and then selling it as dlc is cut content to me.

The DLC doesn't make the characters playable, you play as each of them in their episode, most likely alone (Prompto leak corroborates this). You only play as Noctis in the full game and that's the way it's gonna stay after DLC, as there is no point to switching since Noctis = Gladios + Ignis + Prompto. You already play as every character through Noctis. He does everything they do. Episodes sound like focused story pieces with nerfed combat (like Platinum demo). I'm fairly certain I know what Gladios and Prompto's are going to be like. No idea about Ignis.
