No way they will have a special event only to announce PS4 Slim. If it a PS4 Slim announcement, why not announce it at TGS like they did with Super Slim PS3?

Would make sense as the Tokio game show stream is only translated into english so far, they would need to speak clearly explaining everything how this new model will work in english for a worldwide audience. And i am not sure if they would make Tokio gameshow into english over japanese

Timing is right before TGS though, which seems a bit off, but it would fit with a late September/early October launch, tying in with the rumours that games have to have a Neo mode from October.

TGS would be used to show off games more focused to the Japanese audience or pricecut announcements. Most mainstream there would probably be a FF7 video or demo. For Neo, something Sony has never done, I think they're going to want to do a larger event. Probably one solely dedicated to HW. I'd imagine the only games they'll show off are ones that are already announced or released. I definitely expect a showing of UC4, OG vs Neo.
