Forums - Gaming - NMS Servers Wiped Sunday + Ignore Reviews Before Patch

Harry Denholm, senior programmer at the studio, said on Twitter today that the No Man’s Sky "servers are being wiped Sunday." Denholm included a screenshot of a Kotaku piece alongside his tweet, as if to nullify the article — the excerpt mentioned that there is a planet named after Kotaku in No Man’s Sky, and that players will be able to discover it when the game launches publicly next week.

Good. I was wondering if they would do that since all these early copies are out.

Didn't you post this in the previous thread nearly an hour ago?.

Yes, but I wanted to make sure if anyone on here bought it early they wouldn't waste their time making a lot of progress. Lots of people may not have seen it in that thread.

Wouldn't that go for just about any piece of info posted from thread to thread?. I mean this is why the megathread was the default idea for most on here when it comes to community talk and news info. I just don't want this to turn into the NX scenario where we get 5-10 threads for little snippets big and small that end up clogging up the main page, that irked people quite a bit and still does from time to time. It's why you haven't seen me post multiple pieces on Starbound because I;m still gathering info and working on creating a proper thread for it to get all the info anyone would need in a single place.

Plus your previous thread is still going on, it hasn't died off or anything.

I'm just being thoughtful. There's no reason to be concerned about me making a No Man's Sky thread. At least when you finally make that Starbound thread, you won't have to bring it up in the No Man's Sky threads again, so it's all good.

I don't have anything against your being thoughtful, I'm just pointing out that eventually your info will be lost in pieces and as well as that it can end up clogging up the page in the future which of course can garner attention from those who aren't too happy about having their front page clogged with too much info on one subject, like I said it happened with the NX and people complained about that and got mods to a point where moderation would be enacted for spamming too many pointless NX threads.

I don't know why I can't bring it up lol, both games have a lot of similarities besides the 3D and 2D visuals.

I'd quite gladly take the version I've been watching for hours so this has me intrigued:

According to him he wants you to experience the finished product and not the one that is being streamed, wouldn't you want what he wants you to experience?.

I'd gladly go for the finished product imo, well that and what he suggested.

In other words make sure you have internet access because the day 1 update is a must.
