I don't think China will pass GB now. Very impressive.

This has been a really good Olympics for the UK, and they really needed this after kind of a bad year (Euro 2016, Brexit, bad press etc. )

Wow that hockey match was incredible. Penalties in hockey > penalties in football

It was really exciting to watch!

Well, one gold medal down. Let's get that other one tomorrow so we can have this shit over with.

What do you mean? Euro 2016 was brilliant for the UK! Wales did fantastic! Northern Ireland were pretty good too.

Yeah, they did well. But unfortunately more than 85% of British people were rooting for the team that did terribly...

Womens football

Gold: Germany
Silver: Sweden
Bronze: Canada

German head coach Sylvia Neid crowned her managerial career with this win in her last game (she retires after the final). With her team she was Euro champion in 2009 & 2013, World champion in 2007, Olympic champion in 2016.

It was surprising to see the US get disqualified in 4x100m relay. That was a huge shocker. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the disqualification's handed out today. I think it was a GB relay team that was also disqualified and nobody was quite sure why.

Oh well, the US's disqualification means Canada  got the bronze

She must be very proud of her team and will certainly retire on a high note.

Team Canada got another bronze. I was really hoping this year we'd get Gold after our biggest rivals (USA) left the competition. Guess I'll just have to wait till Tokyo...

Team GB’s Lutalo Muhammad was in floods of tears as he reacted to his last second defeat in the -80kg Taekwondo final defeat at Rio 2016 games.

A tearful Muhammad told the BBC: "I was so close to becoming Olympic champion and making my dream. I am so distraught. I don't want to cry but I am so sorry to the people that stayed up to watch. I let them down at the last second. This is so hard.

"I was so close to being Olympic champion. The emotions are so raw. It's hard to say how disappointed I am. It should have been gold. I am so upset i can't speak clearly.

Was a really heatbreaking interview and just shows how much Gold means to every athlete. I watched that final and in the last second Cisse scored and won. Feel bad for him but somebody had to lose.

Quality competition in women's pole vault.

Gold: Ekateríni Stefanidi (GRE) 4,85m
Silver: Sandi Morris (USA) 4,85m
Bronze: Eliza McCartney (NZ) 4,80m

McCartney is a 19-year old cutie and probably the future star of her sport.

Side note: Yelena Isinbayeva announced her retirement today.

Canada all the way in 19th. Guess I'm cheering for Hungary. WOOOH!!!

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

We're still tenth in total medals and that's how our news media prefer to rank the teams!
