Forums - Nintendo - Game: Predict what other Pokémon will change their type with an alternative form in Pokémon Sun/Moon !

Today we found out that Alola has region exclusive version of old species of Pokémon that change type according to the habitat they live in. As of now we've seen new versions of Exeggutor, Vulpix, Ninetales, Sandshrew and Sandslash but we can expect to see more in the final game so I thought "why don't we make a game out of this ?".

 

Predict 10 Pokémon that will change type in Alola with a new form (Megas and Pokémon from the Chinese leak are excluded), If you guess the Pokémon you gain 1 point, if you guess the full typing correctly you gain 2 additional points, if you guess it partially you gain 0.5 additional points. The user with the most points will win the game, pretty easy, isn't it ?

Not really a smart move considering I chose Pokémon like Corsola and Floatzel, you should've taken away one of the less likely mons and put Marowak instead since it's pretty much confirmed...

Im just hoping we get a Growlithe/Arcanine change. Seriously though this is the coolest thing theyve done to pokemon in quite some time.

I feel like Arcanine would be perfect for a type change, I'd see it perfectly as an Electric type, but I heard that usually leakers tend to insert fake informations in their leaks, for example Ninetales was listed as Fire/Fairy, not Ice/Fairy, still we'll have to wait and see...



I would love to see my Togepi get a new form. Or Nidoking.

Aerodactyl is a special case because it has a mega form): Kabuto/Kabutops (Bug/Steel), Omanyte/Omastar (Bug/Psychic), Lileep/Cradily (Grass/Ghost), Anorith/Armaldo (Steel/Dragon), Rampardos (Ground/Fighting), Shieldon/Bastiodon (Steel/Grass), Tirtouga/Carracosta (Fire/Water), Archen/Archeops (Poison/Flying), Tyrunt/Tyrantrum (Dragon), Amaura/Aurorus (Fire/Fairy).

Other pokemon: Vibrava/Flygon (Bug/Dragon - Trapinch being Bug/Ground), Victreebel line (Grass/Flying), Torkoal (Fire/Ice), Unown (Dark), Relicanth (Water/Ground), Spiritomb (Ghost/Fairy), Girafarig (Psychic/Dark), Farfetch'd (Normal/Fighting), Cryogonal (Rock), Volbeat/Illumise (Bug/Fire).

A few to specifically talk about - Stantler gets a Christmas makeover, Masquerain becomes the true water bug it was supposed to be, Victreebel line's leaves become more functional, Unown in the area have been corrupted somewhat, Relicanth had to be softer in a place where more humans wander into the water, Girafarig's tail becomes stronger, Spiritomb's spirits have been calmed, Farfetch'd gets more expertise with its vegetable (probably not a Leek in Alola), Cryogonal needed a tougher material so it's Crystal instead of Ice, and Volbeat/Illumise's tails become a lot hotter.

For the fossils, a few need some explanation. Lileep/Cradily are actually the black things inside the bulbs of the plants, so I'm picturing them becoming more dominant to replace the Rock tping, so I went with Grass/Ghost. Rampardos needed typing that still suited its basic design, so Ground/Fighting. Shieldon/Bastiodon are based on herbivores, so I figured I'd go with that. Tirtouga/Carracosta needed something to replace the Rock, and I figured Fire would be interesting. Archen/Archeops look like snakes with wings, so I followed that logic. Amaura/Aurorus reverse the transition seen with Vulpix/Ninetales.

It's actually quite fun to imagine possibilities. For instance, maybe Doduo/Dodrio become real flying pokemon (wings go from tiny and nonfunctional to real wings), perhaps as Fighting/Flying? Maybe Ekans/Arbok could be Poison/Dragons? Maybe Hoothoot/Noctowl could get the Psychic types they always deserved? Maybe Lickitung and Lickilicky could be Normal/Poison because of their diet in Alola? Maybe Milotic could be a Dragon type?

Oh, and what if Spiky-eared Pichu comes from Alola? Perhaps it could show up, with evolutions having special typing? A Pikachu with a few visual tweaks, with typing Electric/Grass, maybe?
