It won't release this year. But it can maybe next year as a spring title.

Ha, you say this as if it's a fact rather than speculation! Nintendo isn't yet done announcing games for this year so it still remains to be seen.

You're not paying attention, we're talking about the game releasing this year period. Of course launch isn't gonna happen anymore, hence why I bumped the thread and called myself out for being wrong.

Animal Crossing is a big game. If they release in the 2nd half SMO and Pokemon Stars it will be a little too much. They are already in a good position.

Next year I expect Smash and Animal Crossing to be the big hitters of the first half.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't release this year since Nintendo already has the holidays covered with Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 (if it does actually release in 2017).  That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it's revealed at E3 this year for a slated release in late May, 2018 since Nintendo typically likes to release a big title around that time if MK8 and Splatoon are any indication.

I've been waiting for a proper home console AC game since the original on Gamecube. The Wii game was just totally poor by comparison.

You didn't have to bump it but I give you much respect for doing so. Spemanig still hasn't fessed up to being dead wrong on the Swtich being digital only yet and look how long he's had to do so. Not alot of people have to courage you do lol. 

Animal Crossing is coming, but I am not sure we'll see it in stores this year. I could see it at E3 and set up for Spring 2018 though.
