Last UbiSoft game I bought was AC4. After that, I've stayed away. Sure, some devs show in engine cut scenes that are spruced up a bit, but UbiSoft is in a league of its own. The real product looks almost like it's a gen behind the "demos" they show at E3.
Most of their games are good, so it doesn't bother me. That, and not falling for it. It's no different than these racing franchises that promote their games with virtually nothing but BS replay or photo mode media.
I'm ok with a developer shooting high and then dialing back. A bigger issue with Ubi is how buggy their games are.
