Forums - Nintendo - A biased review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Oh... this isnt "in-your-face japanese". Believe me... it's actually quite soft in that regard.

Series like Neptunia and senran kagura (and others) are alot worse.

Anyways i agree. It was a very pleasant surprise and yet another example why turn based systems are actually be fun, way more than real time ones.

You are right about those other series, but the point I was trying to make is that TMS would be too much for people who have a low level of tolerance (or none) for Japanese things.

Yeah i guess if they are turned off by it, a JRPG is probably never gonna be a good idea. ^^

I would never have expected you to like a game like this so much, looks really good I will get it soon.

I knew it'd work when I saw nintendo involved. Nintendo made Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton mesh together perfectly, so I was excited to see how they'd handle this.

The game would get a 9/10 from me.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright was a collaboration between Level-5 and Capcom. Nintendo was not involved in the development.

I keep thinking Nintendo owns Level-5.

I bought this but haven't had a chance to play it yet. My expectations are high :P

40 hours playing it and loving every bit of it.

Regarding WiiU RPGs, I think I prefer Xeno X, but TMS is very close.

Also, I laughed at the Good, Cool, Great, Bravo... reference! Great review!

Just a close working relationship. I make the same mistake all of the time.

My copy is still sealed (my Genesis component cables have got me on a Genny binge). Will probably start playing it next week.

Think I would like it? I was excited when it was announced, but then they showed what looked like a j pop love fest and lost interest...

I still think Xenoblade Chronicles X is the best JRPG for the Wii U, but Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE comes close second. I was a non-believer, but after reading the critics and good scores, i decided to give it a try, and now i believe. It's a really good JRPG, whenever i played it at some points i thought that the battle system could get better if they did add something else, and a little bit after those thoughts and advancing though the game, they gave it to me and in a better fashion that i could ever imagined. As any JRPG it starts slow, but it grows and gets better and better the closer you get to the end, so you have to have a little patience. My only complains about this game are the loading times, some parts of the story that bored me and i wish the game could have looked a little bit better (this means better lightning and better textures in some places, nonetheless, it's still an overall appealing game, visually speaking).
