Forums - Gaming - Pokémon Go: the Movie – Hollywood battles it out for film rights

Unsurprisingly, given how successful the launch of the Pokémon Go app has been, film studios are already circling, trying to secure the rights to a spin-off movie.

Although Warner Bros and Sony Pictures are understood to be extremely interested, it is Legendary Pictures who, according toDeadline, are closest to landing a deal with the Pokémon Company and Nintendo, the Japanese gaming giant behind Pokémon.

There has been no comment on this from either Legendary Pictures, the studio behind The Dark Knight trilogy, or Pokémon USA but it has long been rumoured that Max Landis could be in line to write the script.

Pokemon Go is huge news, but no. Please Nintendo, not another Super Mario Bros film.

If it's not animated, then it's probably gonna be a shitty movie :P

Nope. it seems it's a live-action film.
