Forums - Nintendo - With 20 Pokemon Go topics on the first page, Let's talk about something else

Tell me about your first Nintendo console - home or handheld - when you got it and what games you got.

I believe mine was in 1991 when I turned 8 I got a NES with the SMB/DH combo from my parents. My neighbours had one for years so this was probably the best day of my life at that point. Later on, the first game I ever bought was Mega Man 2. I chose between that game and Batman. Not sure what my next game was but for christmas I got Chip n Dale =)

One of the handhelds that I had was the gameboy color with Pokemon Red.Ohhhh Pokemon, such an awesome game...

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

My first Nintendo Console was a Gameboy Pocket, Super Mario Land 2 was my favorite! I have no idea when we got it as we probably owned it before I could even talk.

Later I got a Gameboy Color, then a GBA, then a Gamecube, then a DS, Wii, N64, 3DS, WiiU.

I did play the Snes and the N64 back in the day, but never had one myself, till I got an N64 about 5 years ago.

So I don't know how come but my first approach to gaming was 100% cost free to both me and my parents, and that's like for about 4 years, I don't recall who gifted me most of the games I have, but I only know that my friends were SOOOOOO generous. Still my first Nintendo console was a GBA SP, it was in terrible conditions but I couldn't care less as long as it worked and the way it was gifted to me was truly remarcable. Even if I was just 4/5 years old I already understood how the world worked, so I was one of the very few kids who had a girlfriend and we met eachother every day at school and a couple of times a week at my or her house, while at school it was easy to play with other kids we never found anyone that lived close enough to both of us to stay with us except a few rare cases. So since it was only the two of us it wasn't really that fun to play hide and seek or most of the games we knew at the time, but she, beeing the one with the younger parents and living further from the center of the city, already had 2 GBA SP, one was older than the other and was replaced by the second one, so we played them every time we met eachother. Of course, her beeing the girl and the owner of the two magical devices, had to play the newest GBA SP while I had to use the older one, we played countless hours of terrible games and even more of the few good ones (like a Chicken Little game she then gifted me which had some pretty nice Yo-Yo mechanics), after about a year she finally gifted me with the older GBA SP, I accepted the gift with infinite gratitude and still to this day I thank that girl when I meet her (we eventually broke up, she found another kid, she was about 7 yo). And that's the story of how I got myself a Pink GBA SP.

Lets talk about NX. Not much has been said about that on these forums.

Chip n Dale was very fun and chaotic when playing two players. Did not know it had a sequel, it really deserved more sequels though. These days the TV series is not that popular anymore I guess.

My first Nintendo console was Game & Watch: Donkey Kong.

You don't defeat Nintendo threads by making more of them.

Ah didnt even think about G&W. My first one of them was Snoopy Tennis some time in the late 80s I would guess

I always wanted a GB Coor and then the GBA, but was never able to own one. Imagine if Pokemon Go would had come out for the GameBoyAdvance. It could had a special cart with a GPS. Would had been incredible.

Yea, we need more NX threads.
