Interesting.

As a side note, I hate Rapiecage.

The one I always hated was the Einst Regissur and how, you fight one of them... then the next stage you've gotta fight like... 10. Which aren't toned down any.

Yeah, but that's around the end of the game. The Rapiecage just comes out and starts annihilating early. The first time I did the mission where you meet Ouka in the Rapiecage I didn't take it seriously enough. The fact that you only need to get it down to 70% health should have warned me that not only does it have good evasion and tough armor, but weapons that can and will crush you.

Nothing compared to "Episode 30" though. The Galgau or whatever it's called appears and you finally have Sanger Zanvolt back to play with so I figured, I'll have Sanger attack him. Prepare to be cleaved you fat, gold, and ugly enemy! Sanger attacks viciously and I was very pleased. Then Galgau counter attacks with its most powerful move and OHKO's Sanger.

...

I think I went into shock for the following 20 seconds before reseting.

Hah yeah. Maybe it's just me but OG seems a lot "worse" in that regard. The bosses are a LOT more buff then the other SRW games.

Their the one versions that'd be a pain to play in japanese as well because their skills differ in skill points regardless of if they have focus or not. It's a lot easier to tell the difference when you just need to know a slight difference to tell focus from... the one where you take 15 damage from a hit. I can't remember it's name right now.

It'd be a lot harder to play an import of it.

There isn't an OG3 yet that continues the OG2 storyline is there? It just feels so.... unfinished considering Commander Laker and the like.

Well actually I know that answer myself don't I. There is that OG Gaiden game on the PS2 that just released. That and the PS2 version i believe is longer. I really may have to mod my PS2 and import those.

Damn region locking.

I wouldn't know exactly what was going on.... but at least i'd have an idea...

Shame that probably won't come to the US. The PS2 Original generation didn't even did it?

Oh crap and in it you can play as Master Rishu in the Bonus segment. I was just thinking how awesome it'd be if he was a pilot.

I think you also get one mission where you can play with the Rapiecage too.

Reading Gilliams history via Wikipedia is really answering a lot of questions too. Shame I suck at learning languages.

Same with Axel.  It turns out that he's playable for a scenario in the PS2 OG.

Looks awesome

Yeah... you're right.  I really will have to import the PS2 games... maybe a pink Japanese PS2 too.  I think they look neat.

Either that or just mod my PS2 after i get a PS3 with some sort of backwords compatability.

Sounds like a plan.  I don't know why but I thought you already had a PS3 Kas.

Nope, haven't really been able to justify it yet. Since I have a PS2 and my girlfriend got me a Wii I just haven't had a need for another system yet. There are still a decent amount of PS2 and Wii games i don't own yet that i'd like to... and it's hard to argue spending 560+ for a system and a game when there are so many games I don't have yet for systems I already have.

I mean I just picked up Killer 7 today for 7.50 because it was $7.50. Considering I still suck at Brawl to the point of where I can't beat boss battles on hard and have a lot to unlock, am playing two Nippon Ichi games and editing characters in Fire Pro Wrestling still, it's likely to be a long time till I do get a PS3.

A PS3 Super Robot Wars game may just be what would push me over the edge though. Or if Front Mission 6 happened... and was translated over. Though that's unlikely considering how bad 4 bombed... but i mean 4 sucked.

Depending on how things go I may get a PSP first. I mean I guess they have Super Robot Wars games... and I know a few other tactics games that interest me. Like the D&D game which despite having design flaws seems to be the most accurate D&D battle system yet.

Really it's just going to happen when I dry out on tactics games. Which may take a while. Since I want to play through Path of Radiance again... and I haven't even started Radiant Dawn.

Not to mention this conversation finds me wanting to go back to some Super Robot Wars games.

I've resigned to the fact that I probably won't catch up by the end of the generation, so i'm hoping the next 360 has full backwords compatability so I can just pick the new one up and play the games i buy for my friend and probably roomate's Xbox.

Yeah, I kind of feel like that too.  There are so many great games I really want to play but not enough time to play them all.  ^_^

The Akugein was Axel's Soulgain in the OGs...  ^_^
