Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Banjo 3 confirmed for 2008 holiday release

Sounds like they plan on mixing things up a bit for the title. I think it will be interesting to see how this title sells compared to Perfect Dark Zero and Conker: L&R on the 360 and X-Box. Personally, I think it will outperform both.

Must Buy

Wow. So this title isn't vaporware? Color me surprised, and more than pleased.

Anyway, I suspect that Banjo 3 will be better than Rare's other efforts as of late. As I recall, the Banjo team is still relatively intact, despite most of the rest of Rare's better employees having left years ago.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I still need to find out what they meant when they said this game is taking the IP in a different direction. When I figure out it is not a Banjo MMO or a Banjo FPS, I'll buy it.

The lead designer is still the same from the N64 games?

By God, this game just might have a chance.

I hope Rare can actually get back some of their credibility that they've lost over the last couple of years...

The only FPS thing that a Banjo game should ever have is Kazooie spitting coconuts out of her mouth.  It will be a dark dark day when anything other than that happens.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

In other news, I'm still really concerned that this "Won't be a traditional platformer" and that they are taking a "New direction" for the series with a multiplayer focus.  Banjo was great as a platformer.  Why change what works great?  Also, if this turns out to be a minigame collection I'm never buying another Rare game.

The whole team is the team that did the N64 games aside from 2 missing people and a few new guys.
