Didn't seem like a problem for them all these generations, and PS3 drop of BC plus X1 low usage of BC shows that your point isn't regarded as important by most of gamers.

When someone want to play the newest games they also want the best game available (making choices for Multiplats) not the minimum bearing situation. If not by that why did even at the first year of X1PS4 CoD were already selling better on it than on PS360?

This situation was never done before. The difference between xbox one/ps4 and xbox 360/ps3 is pretty huge especially if games utilize the hardware. The difference between scorpio and the ps5 won't be a huge difference. PS5 will probably have around 8tf of gpu, a little bit better cpu and ram. Games for scorpio at that time will be over medium settings while PS5 will be around high. Of course Microsoft should have an xbox 2. This way if you own a scorpio you won't be left out. Each console should give you six years of life. Xbox one -2019 scorpio -2025, ect... This way there will be a cheap alternative to gaming if you can't spend a lot of money.

I have the impression you didn't answer my question, but ok.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Yes they can espacially blue rays 100-200 years, just keep discs away from sun light.

Nope, Disc rot doesn't happen only due to sunlight... It can happen if there is a scratch on the disc that allows oxygen into it as well as many other reasons... Just because its rated at 100-200 years doesn't mean it actually will last you that long... SSD's for example are rated for many life times but most ssds die within 5-10 years in real world situations due to the way that people use them.

They carry them around with them whereupon accidentally they're dropped from a great height into a puddle, after which sometimes they get run over by an onrushing vehicle. Way to look after your SSD.

My guess is that Sony will announce them at the same time, as part of the same reveal. Show both boxes at the same time and illustrate the differences. It would be a little better than announcing the Slim and making a big deal about it, then immediately overshadowing the Slim with the Neo's reveal. Great them like they are still part of the same family.
