Nope, Disc rot doesn't happen only due to sunlight... It can happen if there is a scratch on the disc that allows oxygen into it as well as many other reasons... Just because its rated at 100-200 years doesn't mean it actually will last you that long... SSD's for example are rated for many life times but most ssds die within 5-10 years in real world situations due to the way that people use them. |
They carry them around with them whereupon accidentally they're dropped from a great height into a puddle, after which sometimes they get run over by an onrushing vehicle. Way to look after your SSD.
