Guan Yu deserves to be insulted just like he insulted Sun Quan and subsequently got his ass handed to him for doing so. His loss of Jing Province was the beginging of the end for Shu and they were lucky to survive for as long as they did after his defeat. I mean it was just a bunch of failed campaigns afterwards from Shu.
Had he not been such a moron things may have gone a lot better for Liu Bei's men.

Haha to be fair the death of your emperor's child may have been quite harmful to there morale at the time. Also it's not like Adou was ever really in charge, Zhuge Liang basically did everything for them once Liu Bei passed away.
