Soon all gaming media will be still state. Give it a couple of generations and we will go in a complete cycle and return to cartridges which will be cheaper, larger, faster and harder to pirate.

I like how cd's/ dvd's are cheaper but they always get scratched around my house by my brothers and sister so I do like carts more.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Kryder's Law refers hard disk storage space. RAM is sometimes approximated the same and incorrectly associated with Moor's Law.

the only bad thing about DVD compared to carts is they get scratched, and load slower. other than that DVD is better in all other aspects including a biggie: storage.
i prefer cds/dvds. they just look better sitting on ur shelf you know? plus it stores more .
thats 1 reason why i never liked nintendo consoles because they always have to use something otehr than cd/dvds/ i cant even watch movies on a ninttendo console.
Only 1 Nintendo console used carts instead of an available disc format; the N64. The CG used a propriety mini-DVD and the Wii uses DVD9.
Sorry about not being able to watch movies on it but you can buy a $20.00 DVD player from Wal-Mart. I'd also think that's hardly a reason not to like their systems considering the games are the core focus of any console.

^ actually the wii doesnt use dvd9 . 360 uses dvd 9. wii uses some nintendo custom made optical disc.
i shouldve made my self clearer. one of the main reasons why i never have and never will get a nintendo console is because it always has to use something other than dvd/cd and it doesnt even have cd or dvd playback.

It's still a DVD9. That designation is based on a DVD with a capacity of 8.5 GB's. While it's not an off the shelf DVD9, it's still very much a DVD9.
It doesn't play DVD's because they would have had to pay Sony (part of the DVD Forum) royalties for each console sold plus each game sold, etc...
If you want a DVD player that darn badly, get a cheap one from Wal-mart. Can't believe you'd harp on a console for not including soemthing that is already inconsequentially ubiquitous.
May as well not buy an X360 because it doesn't have built in Wi-Fi or the PS3 because it doesn't have rumble.
