I would wait unless you really want to play the games. Cause a) May as well wait till the holidays for a discount or b) When the Scorpio launches, you would have more options to choose from and the price of the x1 will probably be discounted anyway.
If you have a gaming PC, then I would 110% wait since most games are coming to Windows 10 anyway
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
I would want to know what the Scorpio is and how much before making a decision. Which implies waiting.
I'm waiting on the Scorpio. I'm admittedly a bit excited for it, but there's no real reason to pick up an xbox1 before then.
I thought about it since, right before the Slim was announced , I bought a second Xbox One with Kinect. Here's my take:
The original still looks good, has a fuck ton of features and great games. It's good hardware, especially with Kinect. It's only $250-$300 (sometimes, less)
The Slim is $300-$400, offers 4k video, refined hardware, better form factor. Great for those who take advantage of that.
The upper echelon, high end Xbox One will offer 4k gaming and probably some unique features and refinements that gamers in need of the ultimate experience will want. I'm guessing $500 and above. Something for everyone at any budget.
Right now, after the latest update, I'm more than happy with the original Xbox One so no need to upgrade. Even the games upscaled to 1080p satisfy my current gaming needs. The size doesn't even bother me since the power supply is hidden behind the TV and the console looks pretty sleek on my shelf.

When the Slim comes out. We can assume that the orginal X1 price will get lower. Soooo I guess wait a few months after the slim if you can't afford or not really care about the xtra power of the Scorpion.
Pocky Lover Boy!

If Sony have does the same i wait of course for ps4 neo, don't make sense to spend 300$ and know better ps4 version comes out in a few months, the same goes with xbone
If you don't have ps4 the wait is painfull, dat exclusives games everywhere
If you don't have xbone buy windows 10 pc for now, because of "windows 10 and xbone exclusives" and ps4 neo or xbox scorpio later :)
Pretty different experience and totally different price point, XB1 is currently $300 while Scorpio will be $500+.
