New screenshots of the September 30-due RPG.

Square Enix has released new Final Fantasy XV information and screenshots, introducing the game’s flow and battle system.

Get the information below.

■ Titan and Niflheim Army Battle (Playable at E3)

In the world of Final Fantasy XV, there are large beings known as “Astrals.” By exhibiting to them your strength, they’ll lend you their power to use in battle.

The Titan Astral, which carries a huge rock on its back, lives quietly somewhere in the world. But the Niflheim army plots to use its military might to kill the Titan. Noctis and crew will rush into this battle between the Niflheim army and the rampaging Titan. And if the group exhibits their strength to the Titan as expected, they’ll be able to borrow its power.

■ Game Flow

(1) Take on a Quest

Go to the area designated on the map.

(3) Take a Detour

While following the story directly is all well and good, there are sub-quests and monster subjugation missions all over. The player has total freedom.

(4) Camp and Level Up

In the world of Final Fantasy XV, the time and weather change in real time. Since it’s dangerous during the nighttime, you should camp when after sunset. When camping, you’ll be able to see all the experience points you earned during the day and level up.

(5) Make Meals to Gain the Edge in Battle

You’ll gain status buffs by eating the food Ignis cooks while camping. The effects granted will vary based on the food.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_006.jpg

(6) Travel by Various Means

There are a variety of methods of travel in the massive world of Final Fantasy XV, including on foot, by car, chocobo, boat, and so on.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_007.jpg

■ Battle / Shift

The Lucis royal family have an exclusive ability called “Shift” that allows them to move by warping. While this ability can be freely utilized in battle, it will consume MP.

Map Shift

During battle you can throw your weapon and instantly Shift to where it lands. Places you can Shift to are indicated with an icon, and a Shift can be performed instantly with the single press of a button. You can use Shift to take cover in high places to quickly restore HP and MP, which will prove effective when outnumbered.

Shift Break

You can also Shift to attack enemies that you’re locked on to.

■ Battle / Assault

You can automatically assault (attack) the enemy with the single press and hold of a button. A speedy battle will unfold as you switch between weapons in real time.

Assault

Press and hold the attack button to continue attacking.

Weapon Summon

You can set a variety of weapons in advance that will switch in and out while fighting.

D-Pad Weapon Switch

There are dozens of weapons in Final Fantasy XV. You can instantly switch between weapons based on the enemy and situation. There are also mysterious weapons that still haven’t been revealed.

Weapon Types

—One-handed Sword

Its quick movement allows you to continuously attack the enemy. The one-handed sword is an extremely easy to handle weapon made for maneuverability.

—Great Sword

A really heavy sword. Its movement is slow due to its size, but it can mow down several enemies in a single swing and deal great damage.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_011.jpg

—Daggers

Wield daggers in both hands to quickly attack and damage the enemy. While daggers do less damage than other weapons, you’re lighter on your feet so you can quickly move around the enemy.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_012.jpg

—Spear

Damage the enemy with the long, pointed spear. The power from a Shift Break spear attack might make you think you’re a Dragoon.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_013.jpg

—Shield

A shield can be equipped with a one-handed sword. By equipping a shield and guarding against enemy attacks, it’s possible to break the enemy’s stance.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_014.jpg

—Magic

Magic attacks, like “Fire,” are treated as weapons in Final Fantasy XV. By throwing the spherical magic weapon in the direction of the enemy, its associated magic attack will be triggered.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_015.jpg

—Phantom Sword / Shuriken

You can equip a large, two-handed shuriken, which can be used to attack enemies at a distance. These attacks consume MP, however.

■ Battle / Guard Mode and Dodge Roll

You can automatically guard with the single press and hold of a button.

Guard

When holding the guard button, you’ll automatically enter Guard Mode. Though you may still receive damage when defending against a strong attack.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_017.jpg

Evasion

If you have acquired the “Evade” ability, you’ll automatically evade attacks when in Guard Mode, which will consume MP. Additionally, if you evade the enemy’s attack with proper timing, you’ll be able to avoid the attack without consuming MP and trigger a “Just Guard.”

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_018.jpg

Dodge Roll

With a quick press of the guard button, you can perform a dodge roll to leap away and avoid an attack.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_019.jpg

■ Battle / Parry

When you successfully guard against an attack, an indication to parry the attack will immediately follow. By triggering the parry with proper timing, you can perform a powerful counter attack, which could deal great damage.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_020.jpg

■ Battle / Link

Depending on the situation, you can perform cooperative “Link” attacks with your allies.

Link Attack

By successfully parrying an attack and performing a parry counter, a Link Attack can also be triggered. There are various conditions to trigger a Link Attack.

image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FFXV_06-23-16_021.jpg

Back Attack Link

When you successfully strike the enemy from behind, which deals 1.5 times the normal damage, you may be able to trigger a “Back Attack Link” with your allies to deal even greater damage.

When this comes out everything else gets put on hiatus.

I will be adopting poop-socking

So no proper range weapons then. I believe the game wants me to hate it as much as I do. If I wanted to play The Witcher I would play The Witcher.

Still no words on customizable clothes for the characters?

Huh? You always have a ranged weapon, 2 of them - Shift break and Prompto. Then theres magic and the ninja star.  Also, while your team mates use one weapon exclusively, Noc can switched between all weapons. I wouldn't be shocked he could use guns too.

That would be cool. Resonance of Fate did that and I loved. E3 video did have Noctis with no button up. Maybe?

Shift break is not a ranged weapon, the Shuriken consumes magic and Prompto is a dick. I wouldn't be suirprised if Noc cannot use guns. The game just hates me that much.

Shift break serves as a ranged attack the same way a gun and a bow would. Shuriken does cosume magic, your point? It doesnt make it not a ranged weapon. MP does regenerate so consider it a system put in place to not allow camping. Prompto could possibly be dick..So was Irvine, but  he still serves as the long ranged fighter.

Very theatrical. Feels like your creating reasons to not like FFXV vs just having legit ones.

looks stunning and sounds amazing. This is one of them games which even before release i can tell im going to massively enjoy.

Well it's just piling it on since its announcement. So every slightly bad news for me is a heap of salt in my already poor infected wounds.
