I thought Ares was the worst end boss fight in the series. Zeus in both 2 and 3, Persephone, Thanatos and Alecto were amazing, Ares was just okay.

I also feel the first one has aged a lot worse than any of the others.

Ah true.  I felt bad for RAD.  I seriously hope they can unite again and make The Order sequel.  The Order definitely has potential and with the negative feedbacks it recieved im sure RAD can fix it and do better on the next one.  Well that's how I feel about the game anyways lol

I have a lot of problems with the way RAD approached The Order, but, I agree, there's potential there. The shooting mechanics were good, and the guns were interesting and fun to use. If RAD moved away from the focus on graphics and storytelling and concentrated on interesting gameplay scenarios, The Order: 1887 could be a really good game.

3 by a tiny margin. 2 is a very close second. I have never played Ascension or ghost of Sparta and I haven't beaten chains of Olympus yet.

I'm not sure if it's the best God of War game, but Ghost of Sparta is probably the best handheld action title I've played. It was seriously impressive for a PSP game.

Only played the trilogy. And would put them in this order:

Thought the second one had the greatest set pieces and art style. And some great new mechanics and the best boss fights (might be tied to 3 in this regard)
The first one was also amazing for it's story and inventiveness.
The third one is amazing as well, but kind of pushed everything to eleven. A little too violent and epic. But certainly some amazing puzzles, boss fights and set pieces. Disappointing graphics in my opinion. It looks fine, but doesn't really push the ps3

God of War 3 is one of if not the best looking PS3 game. It pushes PS3 to its absolute limits and even looks good as a PS4 game.
